im bella and have recently begun dating a dom. i am interested in learning about submissives. whats their role etc...

he wanted to buy me a collar and i had to ask why and what for! lol. im rather innocent and sheltered however he has piqued my interests enough to learn more about it.

MasterBenedict -> RE: hey... (9/30/2005 1:50:06 PM)

Well, has He done this as of yet?

Awakener -> RE: hey... (9/30/2005 2:04:57 PM)

Well you have found a great place to learn. It took me many mnay months to find a site as good as this. Unlike most this is not a...well a hookup site. It is a true BDSM community with genuine people. Most here are in relationships, and are only here to make friends and support one another. you'll find the majorit here will be very helpfull with any questions you might have. No need to feel embaressed about a lack of knowledge, something does not make sense or whatever always fel free to post and say this. You won't be ridiculed here like at so many other places...
Anyway I'm kinda rambling so Welocome and hope you find your answers.

belle,

welcome to the site. There is much to garner here, and one of those is that a Dom that whould attempt to put a collar aon a newbie, needs to spend more time at www.castlerealm.com

Good luck

I agree very much. Bella castlerealm has a lot of good education for you..& him. Anyone that would try to collar you before you even understand what it means is someone to be wary of. Somewhat along the lines of you not knowing me & yet I tell you to give me the keys to your life. Submission is a serious thing. Welcome to this site I thnk that there are are lot of things you can learn. Good luck to you.

General opinion? I would recommend you do what you are comfortable with and happy with.

Personal opinion? Take your time, be wary of a dominant who offers anyone a collar when the person offered has no understanding of what it means. Collars can be used as a tool in BDSM and a fashion statement. But collars to many practitioners of BDSM is as important as a wedding ring and it means that you are accepting His control over you - and do you truely believe you are ready to submit all of yourself in that way?

As for castlerealm, its is a good site to look through, but I wouldn't just peruse there. It does have the romance and flowers vibe about it - and if thats your thing - fair enough. But I would strongly urge you to look at numerous sites and not centre on just one. Find one you are comfortable with.

castlerealm
leatherandroses
informedconsent
DeviantsDictionary
AkashaWeb(Femdom)
LovingDominant
Wikipedia
BDSM Health

Also read if you can.
The Loving Dominant by John Warren, SM 101 by Jay Wiseman, Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns: The Romance and Sexual Sorcery of Sadomasochism by Philip Miller, Molly Devon, Different Loving : A Complete Exploration of the World of Sexual Dominance and Submission by by William & Gloria Brame.
All of these books can be ordered through good local booksellers, Amazon or ebay.

Don't feel rushed or pushed or pressured. And above everything else - ENJOY!

Peace and Love

Used to be, in the old days, the relationship came before the collar. And it was the sub who requested to wear the Dom's collar. Oneline has turned everything upon it's head. Now the collar comes first, then the relationship. Enought o confuse an senile old Dom. LOL

Hello everyone, my name is Karen, thank you for allowing me to join the site. I am mostly here to read, and learn. I am rather new to the lifestyle, and looking forward to learning more, but I'm in no hurry, I'm still young yet. But, I do know that I'm now wanting more, but just in no hurry lol.

You can't be that senile if you remember the Good Old Days. Now it's kind of like having the wedding then dating. (Or did someone say that already?) Anyway, a lot went before collaring, and even then it was a rather huge step.
