One could say the same for any gift or act of kindness; that it has a selfish ulterior motive. Just depends how cynically one interprets it.

As a Dominant I wouldnt consider it as topping from the bottom .. but would use it when and if I chose as others have indicated ... I take gifts at face value and never look for ulterior motives..... If I have to look for that from my submissive ... I dont have the " right " one

You all have given great thoughts on the subject and i thank You. my reason for buying the cane is selfish in part, He doesn't call me a greedy monkey for nothing, but He does say it with a smile. i know i can't expect or make Him use it, i just hope He does. i know that He is happy when He gets to beat a girl, one can tell by the reaction and responces both verbally and non. i also know that sometimes, even with things that make us happy, we need a little boost. LOL, there i go rambling on. Sorry.
