I've been doing a little browsing of late, and I've noticed an enormous range of styles, qualities, and price points out there on the market for hoods. I have a pretty solid idea of what I'm looking for, but I thought before I proceeded any further I'd check and see if anyone had any especially positive experiences or recommendations to offer. Any places I should be sure to look? Thanks, WW

Although they are a little expensive, Extreme Restraints has some very nice products. If you sign up for thir newsletter they send out coupons from time to time. We got our deprivation hood from them and it's great.

My favorite out of all my hoods is from JT's stockroom. It's the snap on/off mouth and eyes one. Super comfortable, fits great, face form fitted, and laces up tight in the back, and has a collar with a locking option as well. Maximum versatility with a reasonable price.

What I like about it is the lace-up back and buckled mouth and eye pieces which make for a totally custom (and very snug) fit. I also like that you can use other gags, if you choose. Thank you for the recommendations; I'd done a little browsing at JT's and Extreme Restraints already, but my experience with them has been a little hit or miss. I generally buy from Sub-Shop.com, but they don't seem to have any styles that suit the person I'm buying for. Does anyone else have any referrals they'd like to make? Whether to hood manufacturers or leatherworkers in general? Thanks again, WW

The hood Im lusting after at the moment is from Sinvention, its their "sensory deprivation" hood found here....http://www.sinvention.com/fetish_section_head_trips.html Medicaltoys.com sells them in ther institutional white/tan as well as the black It is truly a gorgeous hood. Lucy

how about sizing, or is it just better to get a lace up, cause I got two rubber hoods, one from extremerestraints, that is too tight, and one from twistmyrubberarm, that is too big :(

I used to like Fetters / Mister S but find they've gone way downhill.I think Fetters U.K. is still good but it's U.K.I have the ultra padded lockable hood by leathercreations.com and it is worth every penny...I can't stop singing it's praises!!!

What I like in a hood: Lace up back over gusset, for perfect sizing Buckle-up eye cover that actually covers eyes and lets no light in at all Buckle-on mouth piece w/o gag (I like to use my own cleanable one, if I choose one at all. (I find leather inside a mouth pretty yucky)) (these buckled straps add to the feeling of confinement of the head) A nose-thang that doesn't mush a guy's nose when wearing it One long enough to gently tighten around neck Small breathing holes so one feels confined, but able to breath adequately Good quality LEATHER But...that's just me, I'm sure we're all different.

I know they make them larger but it was a couple of dollars extra($10) for custom fit. I like the rubber hoood we have, it fits him perfectly, but I do like the lace up ones, I have a huge cranium apparently, sigh, but then Im not so much into wearing them :) Lucy

I liked a mr s one that used punched headliner leather in the back. Lots of ventilation. I may use something similar in my future models.

My personal favorite place to go for leather is Mr.S. Leather in San Francisco. They are also on the web. http://www.mr-s-leather.com/ The stuff they have is high quality.
