cradlerobber -> True love (10/2/2005 12:09:36 PM)

You know she's just a shirt that I've been wearing.
She slips away when you start undoing my buttons,
Falling off my shoulders and forgotten, a feather in the wind.
We stand closer, skin to skin, shuffling back to the wall.
You're on your tip-toes and I'm slouching to meet you,
Put my hands up your shirt, fingertips to your belly.
My nose is in your short hair, and I'm in love with your shampoo.
Your fingers tickle as they slide through the hair at the nape of my neck and upward.
You pull my head down and kiss me sloppily, as if you're drunk,
Or maybe this is all tongue-in-cheek for you anyway, but not for me.
I lift you up and push you against the wall,
My chest against yours, my mouth on your neck, your chin,
Pushing you harder, crushing you into the wall, just to have you closer.
I lift my head and look into your eyes. Those wild, green eyes.
You want to protest but you don't say anything, you stare at me, questioning, accepting...
Maybe you haven't caught your breath. Maybe you can't.
I tighten the grip on your arms, my thumbs become familiar with the shape of your bones.
They dig inside, cutting through the surface like butter,
Opening a door to your hiding place.
My hands go wild, slipping through your ribs and pulling them apart like a few misplaced wires, exposing your beating heart.
I think I hear you moan, but by now I've already torn my chest open, too. Everything is a blur.
You're still crushed against the wall, my hips holding you in place,
I throw myself forward, chest to chest, knocking us both through the wall.
We tumble down a storey onto the sparse lawn outside,
And land in a tangled mess, all limbs and blood, pain and love.
You're still speechless, but it's okay, it's perfect.
Our hearts are beating together, we have one body, and that's all I really wanted.
It's midnight and we're half naked, lying on the grass in a dirty city.
Two have become one. This is what true love is like.
