I find it interesting the occurance or red in other colours too. I have dark brown hair, but my goatee sports some red whiskers intermingled with the brown and grey, yes grey, more in my beard than on my head.

Sunlight and I get more red whiskers.

Two thirds of all Brits are fair skinned recessive so dark haired Brits shouldn't be suprised should they get red beards due to lack of pigment.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Red hair (3/28/2008 9:45:27 AM)

Aneirin, my oldest monster has dark blond hair (like his dad) but is growing a goatee which has come in bright red (as he says "Thanks mom!) which pisses him off to no end. My youngest son is a strawberry though. As for being teased, I was miserably teased. I stood out like a sore thumb. Copper top, carrot top, my Australian nick was "Blue", I could go on and on. Pippi Longstocking, Ophan Annie, "Lucy", you name it. I don't think it's just the guys. The difference was the guys could go get in fights about it. *laughs* The few times I did that, I got into big time trouble.

I still stick out but then my hair is down to my hips and an auburn now. Hopefully the sun will lighten it up this summer. [:D] And for what it's worth - I think redheaded men are hot. I had some lady stop me at a store once and ask if my hair was natural. When I told her it was, she said "good - you know you redheads are a dying breed, right?" I about died of laughter!

I know that, but that shouldn't preclude friendly hair stroking, in a non sexual way. I do, however, accept your limitation.

Mmm, thanks....
*sits Aynne in a chair and tenderly strokes her hair and runs his fingers through it, bending down and smelling it and caressing his cheek with the soft tresses*

hair stroking is NEVER non sexual...its one of the most sexual things to do without actually having sex.

soul2share -> RE: Red hair (3/28/2008 10:14:51 AM)

Faery hon, we are not fakes, we are "bottle enhanced"!  So there!

My hair is naturally a dull brown with the prettiest red highlights.  My dad was born with coal black hair that turned a beautiful silver.....my mom and two sisters were blonde, but they have gotten ashy as they have gotten older.  And their hair is hard to keep in good condition...my mom's is like straw, nd that's with a decent conditioner...of course, they are out on the road driving a truck, so her resources are limited.  My youngest sister kills hers with perms....'nuf said.  How I ended up the only true brunette is beyond me......

As for the wise-asses that ask if the carpet matches the drapes....I tell them that only my butler knows for sure!!  MWAH!!!

BTW, for those that color.....if you haven't, check out getting your stuff at Sally's......hell of a lot cheaper than buying the kits in the stores.

LadyRainfire -> RE: Red hair (3/28/2008 10:18:55 AM)

*snickers*

Hard to say if the carpets match the drapes if you wax......

Gemini1766 -> RE: Red hair (3/28/2008 10:21:43 AM)

Highly sensual, erotic even, but not necessarily sexual. IMO. [:)]
Can it become sexual, damned tooting! But not required.
Sometimes it is fun to just get someone worked up and hand them over to another and watch the fun.

petitespitfire64 -> RE: Red hair (3/28/2008 10:21:52 AM)

I dunno..I hate red hair on anybody..male or female. Funny thing is, most of my girlfeiends have been dyed redheads. I also dont like blondes, but am one...go figure.

Gemini1766 -> RE: Red hair (3/28/2008 10:25:06 AM)

My hair is the most unusual you will ever find I think.
Dirty brown with blonde, black, a sprinkling of grey, but not much, and enough red to make it appear that I have had highlights done. Most noticable in summer when I'm out a lot.

Moloch -> RE: Red hair (3/28/2008 5:56:47 PM)

My hair is brown at 23 I stopped shaving  my face after a month I foun fout  I have a red beard!
Talk about odd color combos.

Half my family are Swedish, and live in Sweden, they are all red naturally.I tried to live there, looking for the Swedish blonde, not many did I find and those that I did were too prissy for my liking.

pahunkboy -> RE: Red hair (3/29/2008 5:58:18 AM)

---Good observations.   I used the hair dye I got on freecycle.   peeople actually stare at me.  it is fire red!!   hopefully itodes not turn pink.

the pic on the box looked  alburn.  apparantly   not.  lol.

i was curious at first then it decided i liked it as it is abit different,  then i thought darn im too bold now- tho i also think im like my grammy.   her hair is red.  :-)

being that i am middle of the road - in terms of masculinity- I have to not wear any styles that  make me look feminine- especially in  red necked bible belt as it is here. so no jewerly no ear rings no piercings, no fanny packs on my.    somehow i wear bright colors too-and while a phyisical attack is not  a big threat- it would draw attention to me.  I dont want that.  So- to remedy- I guess I have to wear a cap at times.  I do not like to over chem my hair. IMO it isbad for a head.  I onlky died my hair since I thought I would see family over easter- other then that- I could care less how I look.  In another 2 months I shave it all off.
