I wonder what would happen to the economy and the Medical Industry if Cancer, Diabeties, and Head Aches were cured with a single injection given at birth?

I think you already know the answer. The result would be a huge hit in the wallets of those who currently fill the need for treatment. The economy would take a hit but would undoubtedly bounce back quickly as those dollars were redirected in other areas.
As a healthcare professional, you're ideally situated to see how medicine has become a business with a bottomline and a projected profit margin, just as any other business. Luckily, there are still plenty of folks who get into healthcare because they want to ease suffering.

We would find other things that need curing. There is always more to do, that's what gets us into trouble repeatedly.

We can already be reasonably sure that if our president spends a great deal of his vigor on getting blowjobs, he doesn't mess up too much else too badly.

We can already be reasonably sure that if our president has an agenda, regardless of whether he or she (none of those so far so I may be overthinking this) is fundamentally a decent person, things do not bode well for this.

As you all are or should be aware of, I am a lazy bastard so you will not find an exhaustive list of examples here, kinda like describing green to you best I can and hope you catch on.

Reminds me of U2. You...are...

Stupid comparison :
-baldness industry alone is a multi billion business (I have seen the estimation of 7B$ in North America alone)
-At the beginning of the 1990s, research on malaria had about 20 M$ a year, but in recent years very generous donators significantly improved the situation. Bill Gates gave 168 M$. Anonymous gave 100M$.
ratio : decreased from about 200 (300 ?) to about 70:1

Hundreds of millions of people are infected by malaria, more than a million die of it every year.
No one dies of baldness.
Ratio : ERROR : division by 0.

Don't worry : baldness and impotence (among others) are very good markets. And in any case, the health market would adapt to a perfectly healthy population, and would just do more plastic surgery operations, and would find ways to accomplish Knock's prophecy : Any healthy person is a sick person without knowing it ("Tout homme bien portant est un malade qui s'ignore", in Knock ou le triomphe de la médecine, by Jules Romain)

Tell that to the hyponchoncriacs, so they can come to terms with the idea that we're all going to die, and they can stop worrying about it so much. M

Actually what i find more repulsive is the fact we have medicine(s) for people that their lives depend on them....but! they are so damned expensive they can't afford it..........so they end up dying.

Ohh jeezzzusss, i should never have started. Off to get more coffee

*waves a good morning*

Add to that the common cold, depression and most women choosing home births... they would lose a hell of a lot of money, not to mention the pharmaceutical empires.

maybe the answers and opinions stated thus far would be different if the posting parties were more involved in what all research involved. Being a cancer survivor myself, i feel as tho my chemothreapy in some ways to be just like that wonder shot at birth ,.....it wasn't tho...it was a series of hundreds of injections of some bright orange fluid that had me sick as a dog and bald for over 9 months, but without thoes research grants, without '' the system'' without the millions of dollars that is funneled into these programs every day , ...well i'm getting off topic here.....if You are speaking collectively with all the aliments mentioned....there would be something else all that money would be funding...plus...the world would be like so much more crowded.....hey , perhaps all that funding would be put into nasa in their never ending quest to set up living quarters in space,...all the extra people would have to live somewhere......oh geeze, reading what all i just wrote, i really DO need to get more sleep .................................good night A/all
