So, you've figured out that in the next six months you may only get the opportunity one time to get away.  You could go from three to five days.  Money is a consideration, so you're not going to be staying in a fancy hotel, but you can afford a plane ticket and basic accommodations.  Where would you go and what would you do?

i am willing to see any one of you cute girls from CM in usa.

but i want to go to a hot state like florida, cali, texas, arizona, and any i may have missed.  i will be ready may/june when my new passport arrives.

we will sun bathe together in bikini's....putting lotion on eachothers backs...and taking nasty pics for all of CM to see...then we'll SHOP TILL WE DROP.

in september i'm spending 3 or 4 days in vegas at the Bellagio!  woot!  all by myself!  double-woot!

yea..i feel old...because my heart condition has made me so weak... ugh...they better do something about it this year when i see them in may.

With the terms of the OP, 5-day cruise to Bermuda from the local port... ends up being about $600/person, can't be beat.

i think my vacation days and funds for the year are already used up, tho...

Only 3-5 days?
I was going to go to Sweden and Ireland this summer but the $ to Euro rate is a killer. They're going to lose a lot of business.
But, I'm now thinking seriously about Buenos Aires, Argentina in the fall.
Now, if I only had 5 days I might go to Texas just to see it or maybe Omaha to visit a Navy buddy and his wife.
Or maybe Puerto Rico.

I'd pretty much go anywhere - you never know what you're going to get until you get there.

My favourite place is Northern England.

After that.......Berlin.

Japan is more than worth a visit.

Vienna and most of Eastern Europe.

5 days is not enough.

Popeye, if you have 3 weeks, why not travel 'round Central and Eastern Europe - you could stay in Vienna and be within a few hours of Berlin, Munich, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava etc....and Dubrovnik is not far......you couldn't go wrong.....

I am going to fly to Miami in Aug, then go on a cruise to the Bahamas..

3-5 days sounds like another roadtrip to me. Id look into finding someone who needs a car driven cross country for them, from Vegas to TN or hereabouts. Id fly out to Vegas, spend a bit of time wth the family, and then hit the road and see how many of my lifestyle friends I can contact along the way.

I'm heading back east in September, details to be firmed up still, friends to be visited. Do know I'm flying out on the 18th. Applying for my passport next week since I'm heading over the border to Canada. Looking at Ontario, New York, possibly Ohio and Pennsylvania.
