Thanks for all the answers.

I understand what you people are trying to say, though i still don't really understand why.
I mean, why do people have to compete, why do they need the confirmation that they -are- better doms.
Really, i don't care. If people want to be a better/harder/sicker/whatever dom then me.
Then they may think this way, it doesn't bother me. But why do they have to act this way for it ?

Maybe it is about image ?

°

I think there is no good reason at all to insult a person without knowing who they are.
Saying that slaves are less intelligent then subs i purely foolish. It is the same as saying dutch people are less intelligent then french ones.
Or am i wrong ?

LOL people insult people because they are people. it sucks and it isnt nice but its what happens. To be honest its not a sudden thing its a build up, they insult them out of jealousy, for protection, out of fear etc etc. There is no validity in saying subs are smarter than slaves, thats a silly assumption, and when people say things like that its normally based in misunderstanding what they think a slave is or as others have said purely to put the really annoying 'Doms' off, it probably doesnt work, but you do get some Dominants who seem to want a doormat or robot rather than a person.

I've met the type. Ones who try to undermine the girls confidence so she is too insecure to even give her opinion on anything and only telling the so-called dom what she thinks he wants to hear. My Own impression of those of that ilk that I have met is of weak men who need to make the girl even weaker than they are in order to have any control.... control without actualy being Dominant, just through breaking the girl down so she dare not do anything but comply.

Personaly I would find a doormat rather boring, My girl has given up her decisions to Me but not her ability to think, not her own perspective, not her opinions and her ability to have an input into the relationship. I take both sets of opinions when reaching My decisions and those decisions are made for both of us. Sure, when her opinion and Mine differ then it is done My way but she still knows I have at least considered her opinion. she is slave, My slave, but she is far from uninteligent :)

Ahh thats the problem though, as its all just labels, there isnt a regulation or membership and you get all sorts. The reason that people can be wary of teh term slave is due to these "weak men" but also there are a lot of severly insecure people who label themselves slave I dont want to judge people and theri kind but i do think the motivations for D/s can come from unhealty places at times and people then take advantage of this. If you have enough contact with people like that you become jaded, when i was new ALL the slaves I spoke to were of that Ilk its only within the last few months that I have started to see level headed sensible smart people with those labels so its only since then that my opinion has changed. We all form our opinions based on our experiance, my initial opinion was based on my relative ignorance and the little contact that I had.

And what constitutes a "doormat" or "robot" may be different for different people.  I've seen those insults bandied about these boards quite often.  Typically they are flung by people who resent or disdain the form of submission expressed by their target.  To that I tend to wonder what buttons were pressed within their own submission that brought about such hostility.  The hurling of insults tends to tell me more about the critic than the critiqued.

Yes, it is insulting.  But I always give the benefit of the doubt and assume that it was unintentional.  I have seen the reverse as well---slaves insinuating that submissives are not really submitting or whatever.  It's kind of silly.

As far as dominants go....only insecure people feel the need to bully others like that.  They are probably trying to establish a place as top dog and actually making themselves look like idiots.

Oh when i say that some Dominants want a doormat, I dont actually think that they exsist, I mean people devoid of all emotion and feeling, thats my idea of a doormat, and its kinda the realms of fantasy world to me
