...I never leave lights on to make it look like I am home.  But then too I hardly go anywhere.

I think its cool how this is spreading everywhere, this idea and realization that it is a global issue. Even places in China are going dark.My lights will be off (pc on lol) and candles used. Its a great reason to use those candles that seem to gather and never get lit!

I think its great...but honestly. The earth houses us 365 days a year...why does it only get one hour of rest?

We are participating as well for the evening, we are doing candles, will be doing board games or reading by them--- building a fire and will be cooking in the fireplace, dinner by candlelight.

I hope everyone does this and really stops to think about what we are doing to the world.

While I support the organizer’s efforts, I shake my head wondering what they were thinking when they scheduled it opposite the “biggest and most profitable event in collegiate sports” (http://www.america.gov/st/educ-english/2008/March/200803181835481CJsamohT0.6626703.html).

It seems that March Madness ranks third, behind only the Super Bowl and the Olympics in most watched events.

Obviously there are many who could care less about BB /Sports but the scheduling lost millions that may have otherwise participated.

i don't know really. it sounds like a good idea to me but it also sounds alot like another earth day thing.if people really wanted to make a difference with this sort of thing why limit it to just one day or night?

while this might have saved energy....IMAGINE all the CRIME that has happened in this hour!!!! think of all the stores that got robbed during this time...and all the muggings on the streets since no lights....and those are just the simple crimes.

It was still light outside here, so it kind of defeated the purpose....
