quote:

"Administration set to add a day to the First Quarter"

A spokesperson from bureau of atomic weights and measures told us today, that one additional day will be added to the month of March. The unnamed source said the addition will add 6.4 trillion [USD] to the fortune 500 profit statements. Investors have long sought a push. "Extending 1Q 2008 will ease the sub-prime mortgage mess" said a Bush official. The action will mean that leap year in 2012 is cancelled. Critics charge that a improper precedent is set. http://money.cnn.com/march/2008/calender.asp

So, are you a perpetrator (who's jumped the gun) or victim?

How would it help anything ? Give people one more day to make a payment ? I don't see it.

IIRC even the leap year system is imperfect. This all from memory, every hundred years we skip a leap year except for every other century. Even that does not come out perfectly and I heard talk years ago of a 25 hour day, I guess it would be Newyear's Eve.

Now that would help the economy, people would have an extra hour to get drunk.

I wish the link worked because I would like to know who thought up this crackpot scheme. I would promptly contact Jeff Foxworthy and order them a sign. A BIG sign.

So is it now April 1st or is it March 32nd ?

It just occurred to me that this could all just be a big April fool's joke.

A quick addition : Could you see it ? It is June 12th in the US, but it is June 13th in the rest of the world. There is no way they could pull this off.

I am afraid I have some  terrible news.

Mod 11 was adjusting her VCR to "March 32",  when all of a sudden,  a gargantuous sink hole opened up, and sucked her in, whirled her around, and landed her on Michael Jaksons merry-go-round at his Neverland ranch.  Each time the courasal rovolves aournd MJ waving his white glove one hand and singing,  Thriller.

... as in a Triller of an April fools day prank aranged by yours truly!  [me]

I hope there are no hard feelings.

Funny enough a number of days WERE added to the caleandar prior to the knowing that the year is more then 365 days.  Hence leap year.

I posted this in a difference group,  the response was about the same- with the expeption of a HUGE rant about bush. lol
