and Dragon of course, ill be on a plane tonight :P

Thank you, because I don't think they'll let me on a plane with my knife. Or any of my knives. And the handcuffs would probably be a problem, too. Why is life so difficult? lol.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread. Just got carried away. *sighs*

Look SSC and RACK are both mental failsafes to give false senses of security that say what I am doing is OKAY when as a general rule what you are doing can cause serious problems if something goes wrong and in some cases it is used as a way to make believe that what we are doing is Legal in Nature when in relaity very little of what we do is Legal.

I say stick with shorter sentences and use some more punctuation!

There are many people who feel RACK is closer to reality than SSC.

Cali

i certainly agree with this.. what would be considered either safe or sane is very relative depending on the people involved. my Master would do and often does many things to me that some people would consider to be neither of the two. RACK fits better as we are both aware of the risks involved in our play. my trust in my Master is complete.. if it wasn't i would not be His girl.

Cutting is not by definition insane. I cut myself shaving my legs today, I doubt I qualify as insane for that. People do temporary cuttings and scarifications as body mods. As long as you clean the skin properly and use a sterile knife and know what you're doing, it's relatively safe.

Now taking a knife with someone else's blood on it and cutting you with it doesn't qualify as safe, unless you're fluid bonded to that person and know their health status. Cutting you with a knife covered in horse manure is certainly stupid unless you just had a tetanus shot, and even so you might get an infection.

If doing these sorts of things makes you feel like your slavery is deeper and more true, then do it. I don't do body mods but that doesn't change the value of my relationship.

There are safe ways to reach the summit of Mount Everest, and ways to get killed attempting to do exactly that.

The peope who reach the summit and return without injury, were being safe.  The people who get killed, were not.

The act itself is neither safe nor unsafe...neither sane nor insane.

I don't need an acronym to tell me whether I will or won;t trust someone and I certainly won't use an acronym as some all-telling guide.  SSC doesn't tell us what's ok or not, WE decide what's ok or not.

Many people in this lifestyle follow the acronym s.s.c. Which means safe, sane & consentual.
i feel that at some point in your relationship there may come a time when one or more of
those might be tested and even extended beyond necessity. This is an example that
happened recently between Master and i.
Master and i were in bed together after a lovely session of play.  He had His hands around
my neck lovingly speaking to me. The conversation going as follows.
Him: Who do you belong to girl?
me: You, Master.
Him: What is your purpose?
me: to obey You and to serve You.
Him: How do My nails feel across your skin?
me: like a knife Master.
Him: Would you let me take a knife and cut you girl?
me: Yes Master.
Him: Is that something that is sane?
me: No Master.
Him: Is it something that is safe girl?
me: Yes Master.
Him: Why girl?
me: Master, girl knows you wouldnt do anything that You would think would harm her and
that is why at times i am not sane when it comes to You.
Him: Very good girl.

I am outside BDSM

I found this to be... Deeply Moving, and personally resonant.

Maybe I'm strange but I never wake up wondering whether my relationship is SSC or RACK. Those acronyms are absolutely pointless in terms of relevancy for my life or relationship - I get that they are valuable for public relations purposes though.
