Just curious, does anyone take issue with a woman being President in the new ABC show, "Commander in Chief"? Just curious. I don't, but some people on here I'm sure do.

Does it affect my personal life in any way? If not, then why should I care what people are doing?

What's to "take issue" with? It's entertainment. I enjoyed the show but then I enjoy Tripping the Rift and Wild West Tech too.

I agree, but some people get so easily offended and take issues with things, that I was just wondering. Again, I have no issue with it, but was curious if some people might -- just for interesting conversation.

Imagine dominating a female President at night? Making her your pet in private while she governs the nation by day? Interesting...

That would be a somewhat typical D/s relationship, would it not?

Its television, not real life, so who cares? Enough other real issues affecting the nation right now, than to worry about a stupid TV show.

While it sounds like I may be feeding a fantasy of yours without meaning too...This is the exact situaion that I have had with all but 1 of my subs. High ranking executives of fortune 500 companies on their knees at my feet. There is a liberation that takes place in these arrangements. Professionally it's nice to have a powerful ally or resource in your back pocket & for them it's the release of the demands & having 1000's of people relying on your every decision. Being told what to do, when, & how relieves them of the stress of their jobs. So why NOT have a person in a position of power at your feet? In the words of Ferris Bueler (80's movie) they are sooo choice if you have the means I HIGHLY recommend picking one up.

As it's easy to figure, this show is nothing but ABC's attempt to get Hillary elected as president by trying to show America how great it would be to have a female president. Other than that, most things that have been in movies, books, and such have come to pass. From old sci fi shows we now have Space Ships in Outer Space. From 10,000 leagues under the sea, we now have submarines. Though America has not officialy had a female as President, there have been books and shows that have a woman as president in the future. The X-Men cartoon done by Fox in the early 90's had a female for president. Both movies Sudden Impact and The Fith Element had a black male for president.

But I say again, this is ABC's attempt to get Hillary elected for 2008 making society feel that it's time to have a woman as the Commander in Chief. However, the show could back fire on her if Rice were to run against her.

As of now, the biggest issue for America having a female in office is our policy with other countries. Culturaly many nations still find women to be beneath men and refuse to work out agreements and terms with everyone but men. Thus the biggest reason why Margret Thatcher only served one term as PM for England.

I myself just vote. I've voted for ppl not because of there age, race, and gender, but due to there experience, leadership, speeches, and debates. May the best person win for 2008. Unfortunatly the best person rarly is the one who even runs. So as always, we'll still have to vote for the lessor to two evils.

Greetings,

Oh yes, I do. But then again, most of you would have guessed that. And even though it has been pointed out that it is "only a tv show", it's the concept that troubles me. Contrary to popular belief, I can be a relatively decent fellow, as long as women know their place. But you see, 60-70 years ago, NO ONE would have gotten up in arms about that statement. It isn't a derogatory statement, but more a statement of fact. Not to get into a rather large debate about equal rights, women's rights, etc, etc............I simply do not understand the insistance to force sameness, instead of separation.

*sarcasm*

I agree completely. We really need to just take men out of the picture, perfect the artificial insemination/cloning process so that females can reproduce without ever even coming in contact with a male or even giving birth to one.

That's separation at its best.

A truly ironic statement for someone who is against civil rights for women.

That would be you with the stick in your hand.

If you're going to make disparaging comments about half of the people on the planet, don't be surprised when you get called on it.

Raven:

We cannot insist on a woman president, we would vote on it. Making it the general choice of the majority who voted. Not a forced appointment.

While I do respect your right to see things and live things your way, it seems if you were able, you would be the one doing the insisting and forcing if given the ultimate power to do that. Just an observation, I could be all wrong.

I am sure you are a decent fellow, sometimes it is more in the presentation than the context.

And it goes both ways as well. You're "presentation" to my post, although in disagreement, was hardly imperative or "smart assed". That I can appreciate and value. My "presentations" may possibly change IF more opposing interactions are similar.

Serve well, and be pleasing.

Why should your presentation depend on anyone else's oppositing interaction?

Be your own man, Raven. You confuse going out of your way to piss people off with stating your position boldly and freely.

Let me make one thing clear:

Just because you don't like me, or anything I have to say does NOT mean I am confused about a DAMN thing.

(How's THAT for "bold and free")

Unfreakinbelievable.
