Had to go with Dr. Lecter, from the choices offered. Honestly though, Gary Oldman's character in The Professional might be my favorite bad guy.

Cool thread, Level :-) . I voted HAL: all the others are neurotics suffering some kind of childhood trauma, so their "evility" isn't truly their fault. I mean, poor Norman! And don't you feel sorry for Darth, at the end of Return of the Jedi? As for Alex Forrest, I identify with her on too many levels (not least, her hair, but there's more as well - more information available on an individual basis). But why no Emperor Palpatine, that satanic pain slut? “Good,” Palpatine breathed. “I can feel your anger.” Suddenly, his voice was intense, “I am defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike me down with all of your hatred!"
