Ma’am, the links you provided were very helpful indeed. So I  thank you very much.

You're very welcome.  Glad I could be of some assistance.  Especially to ANYONE who wants to learn, and keep the tradition of "Old Guard" alive and well!!

MasterWilliam55 -> RE: Old Guard Lifestyle. (4/2/2008 2:35:08 PM)

It is interesting that the "Old Guard" has had a great deal of influence on much of the pan sexual BDSM community. If not the specifics, but certainly some of the concepts, like protocols and rituals, and certain types of behaviour, probably found their genisis within that group or at the very least a crystalization of these ideas.

I too had some training, directly or through observation in the heterosexual communities derivation of these ideas and some exposure to leatherman circles. Even today, protocols and rituals resonate positively with me.

It's always good to recognize some of your roots, however murky that vision might be.

DesFIP -> RE: Old Guard Lifestyle. (4/2/2008 4:54:19 PM)

The old guard were gay leatherman who had served in WWII. They all started as bottoms and worked up to being tops. Not secret European houses but secret because homosexuality was illegal at the time.

If you meet anyone who claims to be a real Old Guard person, he better be gay and in his 80's.

more likely to say they are in their 60's and a rainbow person but can trace it back to an Old Guard cruising experience....

ThundersCry -> RE: Old Guard Lifestyle. (4/2/2008 6:02:20 PM)

Good evening...Michael,

I notice that anytime anyone asks about *Old Guard* ways...your posts appear to me at least, that you become very agitated...almost venomous...

Enlighten me why that is Michael if you would, please...

SimplyMichael -> RE: Old Guard Lifestyle. (4/2/2008 7:15:41 PM)

If you actually read my post but can't grasp my reasons then you either don't have the experience or don't like the mirror I hold up.

Oh, and if  you saw it as "almost venomous" then I will try harder because I was trying for deeply venomous.
