Is there a common phrase you hear regularly that you absolutely hate?

I always thought that I could hate nothing worse than "take it to the next level" but now I hate "meat life" even worse.

What words make you cringe?

I dislike both; there is no other "Level" IMO.

"meat life"...........

Not really phrases, perhaps, but I dislike...... hell, I don't even know what to call it. Psycho babble? "If you can allow yourself to get in touch with your inner child, you'll begin your journey to empowerment".....

"How are you doin" when you know they don't give a rats ass. Sometimes I tell them, from my toenails needing trimmed all the way up to my greying hair blues.

Hey there beautiful.  I honestly am not sure.... but I haven't liked it since I first heard it on this site. Real life, vs online? I don't know.

Soooooo true

Isn't it though?  I only saw the phrase recently and that was here on some thread.  What a gross term!

Oh, I know.  Babble, indeed.  Being a music fanatic, I'm sure you remember the line in that Eagles song "Get Over It" where they sing:  "I'd like to find your inner child and kick it's little ass."  I always loved that.

I know there are several others I hate but one that quickly pops to mind is "Know what I'm sayin'?"  There are people who pepper that liberally through a conversation as if the listener can't comprehend their big words.  "Blah, blah, blah...know what I'm sayin'?  Blah, blah, blah...know what I'm sayin'?"  Yeeeccchhhh..............luci

When I am playing a game with someone such as a video game or even a game of pool, and I am stomping their ass.  I hate to hear someone say, "Alright, now it's time for me to play for real" or anything along those lines.

"No offense, but..." tends to be the start of something quite offensive. The disclaimer is supposed to make, "No offense, but you're ugly and stupid." inoffensive somehow?

Edited for a typo, of course.

Come on people.  How about, "Hello.  How have you been (asked sincerely)?  Anything new happening with you since we last spoke?

'Sup.  I'll tell ya 'sup! I'm 'bout to smack you upside yer head!  Grrrr.

Me too, luci  It kinda surprised me that they wrote that, but I applauded it then, and still do, heh heh.

I despise "I love you/her/whatever to death."  Ummm... I'll pass on that kinda love, thanks.

Or "it goes without saying" at which point I usually jump in and say "ok" and change the subject.  People really don't seem to like that.

My ex husband says, "In the same sentence" as an opener, and I interrupt and say "in what sentence? what are you talking about?"  He's not too keen on that.

Wouldn't that be 'insubordinant'?  Your super is a dingus.

Ok, haven't heard it for a bit and it may be out of use now; but i hated "hella" which i heard all the time when i moved to the Bay Area in the late 90s.

"It's all good"  (used by those who are afraid to form an opinion because of a dire need for acceptance)

"How cool is that?!"  (like they need to ask? )LOL

Topping from the bottom is about the most ridiculous notion I've ever heard of.   It irritates me when people use this phrase.
