[sm=ofcourse.gif]  bipolarbear, you seemingly earnest and smart man,a blanket statement like that is just ASKING to be flamed.  Some Democrats have standards; same with GOP...but who sets the standard?  After both groups have proven over and over that they are more Machiavellian than anything else, i have a problem with accepting one as more correct or in possesion of standards than the other...i think i usually agree more with everyday people that align with the Dems...but the party itself is business as usual...the business being, of course...poltics. 


Not picking on bp (I generally like his posts), but here on CM, I see several posters that regularly give those sort of blanket statements against the right, moreso than from the right. [8|] It comes across as an unrelenting "they" are wrong-ism.....

While true that both sides feed at the troff,the difference is both in quality and quantity.

And the Democrats usually don`t run on morality,piety or patriotism.

The republicans drape themselves with a flag and beat the rest of us sinners with a cross.They are the ones who are waging the culture war.

They should just stfu on things cultural.Stay tf out of my bedroom.I don`t want them choosing what I watch,read or listen to.

I don't have much use for talk radio, whether it's liberal or conservative.  I used to listen to Limbaugh when I was having to drive a lot in the 90's.  But he really started to get boring.  I think my favorite show of all time was G. Gordon Liddy's.  He was absolutely hysterical, whether you agreed with him or not.  I have to say, G. Gordon would admit it when he was wrong.  Although not talk radio, I always loved Paul Harvey.

I used to listen to Rush, too, but after a couple of weeks, he'd begin to irritate me. [:D]

The Randi Rhoades flap is hilarious.  Air America is nothing but a subsidised way to get around campaign Finamce laws.  Of course if someone they are paying starts to preach 100% against the party, and hurting the chances in the election, they wil get pulled off the air.  Soros isn't paying her to help the Republicans win (Or is he?).

What Randi said is 100% the opposite of "We have two great candidates, and I will fully support who ever wins the primary."

Rove must be behind it...

If you read my comment,it said "counterpart".That also includes exposure and coverage,etc.

Who is Cockburn?Is he from this century?

Yep, that's him.  He was also one of the guys that broke into Watergate.  I didn't agree with him on a lot of things.  But he was great to listen to.  It was a entertaining show.  He didn't screen his callers the way Limbaugh did and does.  There really was some hillarious arguments on that show.

I see nothing wrong with her speech - Just more pathetic false outrage from those with frilly collars and bow ties.

Anyways....Thom Hartman is on the same network....and he runs a hella upbeat program; filled with historical parallels--presented in their proper context---instead of all the false rhetoric one hears on Limbaugh.

I've always wondered why Liddy (and to a smaller extent, Oliver North) are popular with a party that emphasises  "law and order".  They're both felons, are they not?

I disagree...First off it would never happen....The left is way to diverse. they don't really share a common agenda as the right does...The umbrella is large and what goes on underneath it is kind of fucked up.

I have yet to ever find an adequate response as to why FOX flourishes but stations such as Air America flounder....It has to do with the mindset of the people on the left and the right. Possibly the type A's frequent the right....Winning is winning no matter the ramifications or at what cost. They tend to love structure and be rather rigid... I think this does play a part. I also have always believed that the "educated" folks on the left have never needed to have their beliefs continually puked back up upon them...It seems that so many on the right can't get enough of this type of validation....It is the difference between the mentality of the individual vs. the herd. The right seems to need to follow, they seem to need the continual affirmation. These are just a few of the differences that I have perceived over time.

It makes sense. The left...Artists, comedians, the abstract..People who tend to think beyond the typical borders. Both sides need each other. I just know which side I have more in common with.
