I'm pretty sure its just an average BTW. The very concept of average would mean a variety of units to come up with the average.

There is nothing wrong with average per se, after all, its just a count.  Still... given the particulars of this study... I'd like to hope I score above and not below....lol FDD

Status: offline 		Nope im not every woman, which is why stupid articles like this should be disregarded because im pretty sure all of us are differant, where one may cum screaming and gushing another may be silent, where one may need their nipples pinched another may need to be gently rubbed, where one may cum in three mins another may take an hour. I was talking about ME its something I love to do (talk about me I mean not wank, though I do love that too) and for ME to have three orgasms takes 30 mins (night time ritual) the first one takes about 20 mins to get there the other two well they are nice and quick after the warm up. My initial post was half jokey I know how long in ideal circumstances it takes me to make myself cum (with a little help from my shakey frind)

In past experiance I have never simply jumped on a cock so i have no clue how long it takes that way, normally there is at least some element of build up, shifts in position, getting your rythm going all that stuff, it takes time, then there is positioning yourself so all the right bits hit all the right spots, then you have to relax. This is of course just me, but seriously three mins, no fucking way.

That why there are averages.

And what is stupid? AOL's take or the actual article by Journal of Sexual Medicine? Just so you know... That is an actual science journal, http://jsm.issir.org/ from the very respectable International Society for Sexual Medicine AND the equally respected International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health. They are not some fly by night outfits designed to make news in OK or the National Enquirer.  OK... I was going for light hearted banter when I posted this but.... Obviously, someone thought the study was a good idea and the results are the results. Is the science stupid? Is the study stupid? (well maybe if it was taxpayer funded but then that is a different post) And again, I'll point out, that this is about an average. Maybe there is a mathematician out there... If the average is three to thirteen minutes for sexual intercourse, given the low end of immediate ejaculation upon penetration, what is the high end time? And while your at it, what's the mean?

A little while ago I posted a thread about a study which supposedly showed that hourglass shaped women were more intelligent, for example. There are all sorts of studies out there... once you decide what you want to prove... you can pretty much prove anything.

Do you think that the person who commissioned the study has found a solution to their premature ejaculation ;-p ?

Quickies are fine, I enjoy them a great deal but if it looks to become a habit, that sucker had better get worked out as soon as possible.
Passion, anticipation, foreplay, yes and denial...I want it all, not always, not every day, but certainly more than 7 minutes of humpin.
When the sprogs were younger, timing and tiredness was an issue,  no doubt, but both our needs are strong I think we are at a place now that we are both happy with.
And yes I agree with KS it is a pseudo science, not enough of a reliable base for reliable information, sex is still very much a subject people dont like talking about, unless they are very open but then you dunno who is embellishing or embarrassed...

Status: offline 		So you have had and enjoyed quickies and you have had the long marathon sessions (I'll give you the bennie of doubt that there were marathon intercourse only sessions as that is what the study was showing, average times of intercourse).

If you take all of your sexual intercourse minutes and time them over, a year, six months, three months, between marathon and quickie there is an average time of intercourse. That was the study.

OH and BTW...  what is "pseudo science" The International Society for Sexual Medicine and The International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health are not quite pseudo scientist are they. 

I am betting that the average time of actual penetration during sexual intercourse is right between three and thirteen minutes no matter how long the rest of it is before and after.

Why is that so off putting???
