I would love to hear your thoughts on this peice: http://www.brightcove.tv/title.jsp?title=987398042 A machine with a doll face mimics images on television screen in search of a satisfactory visage. Doll Face presents a visual account of desires misplaced and identities fractured by our technological extension into the future. More than ever, media and celebrities have a strong influence over our youth, both positive and negative, especially due to the TV shows, movies and books that are created just for them. Have you noticed an influence, either positive or negative? Let everyone know your observations and thoughts on how the media affects our youth, you and others. ~ Being a Leader in our youth community, and watching how they struggle and heck everyone in general.... I found this peice to be very concise and to the heart of things. Do you think we as parents, friends, lovers... can help others and ourselves stop this habit of feeling "not good enough" or not enough of what ever it is we are told to be. ( I am not saying lack goals, or health and beauty.... I am saying have a healthy outlook and love yourself first. Whatever that self may be. Do you think we can over come the barrage of images and messages? Odd how you never hear or see on the popular girls magizines how to be better people, more conciderate, or smarter. Hmm. Why do we feed thier minds trash? Do we under value what they will consume, or what they can handle? No flaming.. and no "well I am perfect so screw you" please. Gwyn "And let not your adornment be merely external-- braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God." 1 Peter 3:3-4
