CalifChick -> RE: the fine art of babymaking... I mean naming (4/7/2008 8:52:38 AM)

My sister acquiesced to her husband's demands and named their child Zackary instead of the "traditional" way of spelling it, Zachary. Her husband's logic was that the traditional way was stupid, because the short form is Zack, not Zach. Sis said "whatever" and came to regret it. She could NEVER buy her son something in a store that had a name on it, because of their "original" spelling. She wanted an airplane sign that had names carved in it... nope. She wanted an ornament for the tree... nope. You get the idea. Yes, she could have gotten things done custom and personalized, but that is more work and more expense. I was with her one day and she was looking at a rack of something with kid names on it (I can't remember what it was) and she just sighed and said "why do I even bother to look??" Just a little something to think about. Cali
