You go to a place like a munch or gathering of like minded people. You socialize with casual conversation. You give a bad opinion of something like food, place you been, or hobby (vanilla) to a dominant woman and she takes offense. How do you over come that??

Just move on and find one who's not so thin-skinned and judgmental. Trust
me, the phrase, "Kid in a Candy Store" is a modest allusion to your range of
choice on this site -- Look around, and enjoy.

You're still human, no one there "owns" you. Just as long as you are respectful, I would have no issue with you voicing your opinions.

She was being an ass, IMO.

Nothing you can do about it other than move on. You did nothing inherently wrong-some folks just take themselves too seriously.
