Let's look at some of the Democrat values from the last few years, shall we?  It's very bad to denigrate the service of a combat veteran...  Nope.  Every vote needs to count...  Uhhh.  A President who lies a lot is no big deal...  Uh-uh.  And don't forget that great one from the 80's, Hate is not a family value.

Hypocrisy.  That's the value they have to sell.

That's why Rove swiftboated Kerry.

Pointing out Republicans who did it completely fails to address the charge, Hippie.  The Dems proclaim these things as violations of important values, then do the same themselves.

Swing and a miss.  Strike one.

What about the Swift Boat vets? *smirks*

Every vote needs to count...  Uhhh.
Apparently never in a Rep. run Fla. Reps are the ones who chose the early vote this year... and stoped all the recounts the last time. Try again.

A President who lies a lot is no big deal...  Uh-uh.
I dont see any one other then some Dems trying to impeach him.. he is one scary ass mofo. Hell anyone who can lop the balls off of the CIA and pull all of the shit him and his cronies.. ( mostly his cronies ) have done you generaly keep your mouth shut untill he is a lame duck and on his way out.

And don't forget that great one from the 80's, Hate is not a family value.
Baby steps... just as with the last Human Rights movement it was not won over night. They had to take baby steps and so does the GLBT groups. Don't ask Don't tell was a *huge* improvement from instant court marshal on even a rumor of someone possibly being gay. I know.. I have friends who were court marshaled... and some who were honorably discharged and hush hushed out of the service under the new law.

Lets not forget the AIDS epidemic and the pres. at the time never once saying the word AIDS durring his admin. ( Regan) Instead of getting people educated so it could be sontained.. and lessened it became a "dirty disease the Gays got and deserved" The gay community were the only ones talking about it.. and educating people.. and *pushing* for research and public education on HIV and AIDS.

At least Dems have not been hell bent on Dominionism to the point of driving us into wars, killing our economy, lying, cheating, torturing, killing, and all the rest. Bush has allowed his cronies to do what ever so long as it went twords his driving goal of dominionism. He along with his admin have weakened and changed the public face of the rep party to the point where it is damaged beyond reconition.

It is true the Dems need to stop being such pussies and go balls to the wall... and stand up for the little guy. The middle class and hard working lower wage folks. I am sick to death of them kowtowing to the tax cuts to the rich... and the plans for the rich to get richer. But thier sins are so few comparitively.

Besides.. Democrats are sexy... who has ever heard of a good piece of elephant?           (my fave political button I wear)

Hypocrisy.  That's the value they have to sell.

Do you have a wide stance? Did you shoot drugs with your hustler boyfriend on Saturday.. then on Sunday morning scream from the pulpit about the evils of homosexuals?

Sorry to be so tough on you... but people in glass houses and all that.

There are wankers in both parties.. and good people in both parties.. but honestly there is a very small segement.... the NE "Country Club" Reps who are decent, progressive that give a shit about something other then *thier* tax cuts, and repressing the poor and minorites.

When the dems did it they did it half heartedly.. or flubbed it because they are not used to do it.. when the parties listed did it.. it was with Gusto.... and huge amount of practice.. like breathing.

You can not tell me the minicule blurbs on any one.. was as bad as the Kerry Swiftboating.. you just fucking cant.

all of the dem examples are minor to minicsule at best. The rep ones are like Hiroshima comparitively... give me a bloody break...

besides arent you sick of the us and them thing yet? honestly... It does get tiresome.

Uh, Gwyn?  I hope you didn't wear yourself out there.  I'll refer you back to my reply to Hippie.

The Democrats constantly decry the actions of Republicans, sometimes as accurately as you have above.  They talk of great 'rights' and 'wrongs.'  They claim the high ground.  And the moment those self-righteously proclaimed values come into conflict with their desire for power and their hatred, we see the hierarchy for what it is.

"Swiftboating."  It's an interesting word.  A word invented by Democrat spin-meisters to describe a whole new sin for the Left to be opposed to.  A brand new "Value," that should never be violated.  Until a Republican who spent more years in an enemy prison than Kerry did months in country comes along.  Let's also bear in mind that we are nowhere near a very hard fought general election yet.  We might have to wake this thread in October.

As for Kerry, three Purple Hearts in 4 1/2 months (too dumb to duck).  Total fabrications, that he "remembered very clearly."  What was the percentage of men from his unit who said he was a hero, vs. those who said he was a fraud?  And how, pray tell, did Karl Rove engineer that fucking dufflebag salute when Kerry "reported for duty" at the convention?  Not to mention his conduct and statements when he came home.

"Swiftboating."  Does that word just mean calling somebody on complete bullshit?  Like swiftboating Hillary by showing the video of her getting flowers while playing audio of her talking about running from snipers?

Were you in Nam? If not, you are just talking out of your ass. You dishonor my two brothers, one of whom did 2-1/2 tours on the front lines with 400 guys under his command.

Keryy fought for the right to say whatever the fuck he wanted to say. You know, that 1st Amendment thing? What have you done? I got my DD214. I can say whatever the fuck I want, including my opinion that Bush is a murderous psychopathic traitor who should be locked up for life, and a COWARD to boot.

All polictians are slimey bastards to *some* degree... I think it is inherant... If they are not.. they have no chance at getting elected very far. Look at Ron Paul and Howard Dean... Honest, straight forward.. not slimey enough for the game.

If you were to do a great tally of the rights and wrongs through time.. honestly and have a person not from here to do it... from say... France or Germany.. or some place like that.... and look at it over all.... they would come to the conclusion that the parties base ideas.. and  the way they have carried them them out.. would be supported by what I said. All politicians are bastards. thats life.. get over it. I hang out with them.. hell.. one of my best friends was a lobbist. ( yes, she is aware she will burn in hell for it )

But the mindless well you people are big mean poo poo heads is counter productive and needs to stop. If you are sick of politicains having no values talk to your group of peeps and get the to toe the line. Get your house in order.. write your reps and tell them how ethics and morals are important to you as a voter. ( I did a while back~ my rep. sent me a lovely letter thanking me for my opinion... he does that a lot. I think my addy is in thier mail program to be honest. I can hear it now... "Oh God.. she called/emailed/faxed/wrote again...." )

Well, the difference for me, personally, Gwyn, is that I say no matter what party someone belongs to, if they are wrongdoing, then hang their asses out to dry. That jerk in Louisiana who had that 90 grand in the freezer? Bust his ass. That goes for any other Dem, too.

I do not recall EVER seeing a Repub do anything except defend their guys by playing the "they did it, too" shit.

I'm not a Dem, though. They are too Republican for me.

Are there any disillusioned individuals who think US has parties? I see only ruling permanent political elite and lobbyists enriching each other at the expense of "useful idiots".

That's easy All of the men from his unit said he was a hero. None ever said he was a fraud. You have to go to crew from other swiftboats assigned to the same area to get people making negative claims.

Consider that carefully, 30+ years after their service together the enlisted men under his command still say he did what his service record says he did and did it well and bravely. I'm former enlisted and there is no way in hell I would tell a lie for any officer I ever served under and I find the idea that none of those would either to be more likely than a bunch of uncorrobarated claims that all come out many years later and all come from hard core right wingers.

It's astounding to me that people are still rolling Kerry's name in the mud all these years later. Why do you think that is, Ken?
