I just bought a logitec quick pro 9000.

It sets up with windows xp,
but the video box is split in four sections.
The color also fades in and out.

If I can watch videos on youtube,
or videos sent to me, would this be a software problem?

How do I find what video card I have without shutting everything off and opening it up?

its a cam problem...those suck.  i used a logitech quick cam express..until i got my new nokia phone that has a 1.3 mega pixel..which is far better...pics in my profile are made with it.

the ones that were made with my web cam were off color, blurry, and crap.

Your problem is most likely a camera issue but I don't have enough info.

You can find out your video card/chip by right clicking on your desktop (some section of the screen that isn't an icon or program window). Select properties from the context menu that pops up. Select the settings tab and press the advanced button. Select the adapter tab on the new dialog and it should have the details of your video card.

Logitech Quick Cam's are decent enough if you learn to use them properly :P

Misty Menthal:

Uninstall the software and install it again, maybe you might have made a mistake.

If problem persists unplug the cam while your in the software and plug it back in.

If it's still bad go online and look for newer software.

If it STILL persists you may need to go into the options or tools tab and work out if the software is defaulted to 4 screens

Still no joy, then I'd recommend you go into Control Panel and check your device is the right one, Sometimes it can install 2 cams and it's simply set to the wrong one.

Then I'd recommend forums and google keywording the name of the cam and split screen or something.

IF that doesnt work go to the Logitech website and get to contact part

if no reply take it back.

First off do what Urza recommended and uninstall and then reinstall the cam software. If that doesn't work then it would likely be faster and easier to contact HP (1-800 number in your installation instruction I bet) and try and get the suppor guy to help you out.

As i'm a UK guy we dont have much support teams, they seem to be based in US and thus phoning can be a nightmare, Logitech are a well recognised company and thus should have a good technical support team.

do not do this...chances are you don't even have a video card, almost all computers have a video chip set now....if you have windows, right click on your "my computer" icon - where ever it is, on your desktop or in your start menu - left click on properties, left click on the hardware tab, click on device manager, click on the + next to display adapters, this will list what your video driver is (the software that makes either your card or your chipset work, and it is all the information you need)

as for the webcam...as mentioned, uninstall the software, reinstall it - following the directions to a T...do everything exactly as written, i have messed up installs because i thought it was just like all the others...if that fails, visit their website, call their tech support, google your problem, or buy a new camera...

there are many out there that are relatively cheap that will do the job...if you want it for video chat i reccomend kodak brand, i have had mine for years on multiple computers, i download the driver off the internet, plug it in and i am good to go...if you want it just to take pictures, go for a digital camera, even the cheapest digital still cameras are better quallity than a web cam....

good luck
chelle

I'm taking the Cam into the Geek squad.

If it turns out to be the cam,
great I'll get another one.

I reinstalled it twice

If not I'll take the computer into them.

Thanks everybody. misty

I haven't got a clue what your problem is but I also have a Logitech camera, it works very well and I get periodic checks from Logitech to see if the software is up to date.
I think  that you should take it back to the supplier and get them to prove to your satisfaction that it works OK

I assume it didnt fall off the back of a lorry ?

Thanks everybody for your help..

I am using "talkfushion' and it works fine there.
Strange but when I snap a photo, or do a video, it's fine.

It's just when I turn it on that it shows the spit screens.
