The very first question I posted on here, eons ago, was a genuine question that I had not ever seen before and was curious on what people thought. A few of the first replies were snarky and stupid, but then some very kind people posted genuine, well-thought-out, and informative responses. It was great, and I didn't let that rocky start keep me from posting obviously.
However, if someone is new to the site or bdsm in general and asks for opinions, I think hammering them with a thousand links and the ever-popular "OMG, you are so stupid for asking a question that has been asked 1,000 times before you ever came to this site" response isn't necessary. We have all been new at one time or another and swatting them away like gnats makes us look like kink-snobs (IMO). If you see a thread that you've answered before, you have the option of ignoring that thread and going on to something new. Nothing says that just because you have answered the question a year ago that you have to answer the new thread and new person this time. Just keep scrolling, find something that's new to you, and keep your written eye-rolling to yourself.
Only a suggestion, YMMV. [8|]
Edited to add that sometimes people like getting the responses of a new crop of posters on a subject and may have already looked at the old ones via search. New people can bring new ideas.
