So, what kind of movies do you like?

-or what movies go with red wine?

(Are subtitles acceptable?)

Today, I'm thinking not a romance, not a horror. Subtitles are fine. I like the less-than-mainstream movies, mostly, Indies and such. Everything goes with red wine, dahling.

Three suggestions:

Clay Pigeons - a sharp-as-hell, very dark comedy.  Joaquin Phoenix, Vince Vaughn, Janeane Garofallo (sp?), Georgina Cates.

Samurai Fiction - hilarious, unpredictable Japanese period film.  There is a bit of romance, but it's an adventure story.

Black Mask - Jet Li - modest librarian or genetically-enhanced warrior, hunted by the government entity who created him?  This one's also an action film with some humor.  (a couple of very grisly scenes, you should be warned)

Hmmm, tee, perhaps you could kill three birds with one stone. Sip red wine and watch "Standing In the Shadows of Motown" ( great story, interviews and soundtrack).

Wow. Efficient, multitasketed, maximizes fowl fatalities.

I like it, thank you.

You're most welcome, Oh Godess of the Corn Belt ( yes, I can be fickle). I hope you enjoy your evening. And, as far as maximizing fowl fatalities is concerned, we all have to do our part, yanno. I suppose it's a bit early up there for mocking birds and grackles ( outlaw bikers of the avian world) to be nesting and dive bombing unsuspecting passersby. Not so here. I had one shit through the sun roof of my Jetta the other day at 70 mph, the nasty bastid.Yes...we all have to do our part...

i'll never view the deli counter quite the same again....
