I am a single pansexual male living in Minnesota. New to bdsm but have fantasized about and experienced many other kinks. Have attended social and play events that were straight, gay, and bisexual. Have previously been involved in swingers groups and (brief) polyamorous relationships. About the only thing I am not willing to at least try is monogomy, it honestly just is not in my nature. Currently not involved with anyone. My longest relationship, 12 year with a woman, ended three years ago. She definately had a dominant personality but we did not have a D/s relationship. Doubt I could ever live in a 24/7 D/s relationship but I definately believe periods of power exchange can be benificial to broader relationship. Tried to do some of it with her but at the time I did not know enough to establish the necessary foundation to make it work. I'm certain I still have a lot I need to learn but feel I have gained enough background express what I need and explain what I am able and willing to give.
Finding the label of 'bisexual' too limiting so now identifying as 'pansexual'. The main difference being 'bi' refers to two and experience has shown me there are definately more than two genders. I am open to possibilities with all types of people. Let me emphisize possibilities. Even though I do openly call myself a slut it does not mean I will automatically have sex with anyone. Even a slut has some standards and certain preferences.
I am always nervous meeting someone new. I'm not good at reading body language or interpeting subtle implications people try to make. Highly prefer people who will just clearly state what they like and do not like. I have always been open with everyone in my life. Any type of relationship has to be based on mutual trust and respect.
While D/s and bondage play have been part of my fantasy life for many years I have very little real life experience with it. Have done some research and talked to a number of people online and in person but never had a partner to explore this with. Was scared away for a number of years both by the horror stories I heard and by the attitudes of people I discussed the subject with. Many times online I have been told that I can't be a sub if I have too set an idea of what I want, or that it is all for the pleasure of the dom and what the sub wants is irrelevent. Fortunately I have made some friends and heard from people in the local community who have shown me that is not representative of all doms. I am nervous about explore this area but also find it very exciting.
I make my living as a general handyman, doing all types of home repair work. My hobbies tend to be creative, intellectual, and too often solitary. One of my main dilema is needing a lot of alone time but not wanting to be alone too much.
I am great with animals and children, teens and adults I tend to have more trouble with. While I do not have kids myself I have been in several relationships where I helped raise children. Most I do not see anymore but a couple I continue have occational contact with.
My favorite places are libraries and the Science Museum of Minnesota. I also like flea markets and garage sales. Not much into bars or night clubs but they can be fun occationally. I have been to Ground Zero's bondage nights a couple of times. I do tend to feel uneasy in crowds of people so I prefer to stick to small groups of friends.
