Did you ever overhear something you were not supposed to?

Did it shock you?

What where your feelings?

Did you let on that you heard it?

I don't care what either people are talking about. If I happen upon them in mid-conversation I immediately acknowledge what I heard as if to announce my presence. Most conversations are wastes of time, the value of them is not really in what people are saying - the value is in the metameaning. As mammals we enjoy constant stroking, conversation is a kind of stroking.

FWIW, I don't really care what others think of me. Doesn't that come across online? I bet it does...

When I was a young child.  I was going to knock on my parents door.  I heard them having a blow job.

You know parents aren't supposed to have sex so yeah it shocked me.

I've got excellent hearing so yes, I hear stuff that was not intended for my ears all the time.
Nothing shocks me anymore.

My feelings have run the gamut, from indifferent to disappointed in the people talking, to pissed off at their childish behaviour.

Whether I let on that I heard it depends on which incident we are talking about. Sometimes it is much better to keep your mouth shut and just file stuff away for future reference.
