A post by Darcy inspired me to post this.

Who do you believe has deeper friendships, men or women?

Voted for either/ (both?).  i'm thinking they both can, and do, have equally satisfying and deep friendships... it's a part of life, afterall.

women...because when men think of deep...theyre thinking of a woman going deep! and not thinking of relationships!

What do YOU think, Level?

I voted fifty fifty: not being a man, I can't speak on behalf of the male specie and therefore, I will assume that both genders have an equal, if different, ability for deep friendships (or superfluous, frivolous ones too).

Don’t be so sure about that; he could be thinking he is deep, in relation to her teeth.

I've had both female and male best friends. In my experience, it's the person, not the gender that determines emotional depth and friendability.

I voted that I have no friends,

I see where the question sort of comes from (not the comment made but the idea) I do think that differant genders have differant types of friendships maybe thats because they need differant things, im using my parents as an example, my dad has friends that he sees occasionally that he met at school so does my mum, my dad meets them once a monthish so does my mum no differance, maybe the friendships are percieved differantly but depth is subjective.

Interesting question. All of the chicks that I run with are "guys girls"....Have few if any women friends, tend to hang with guys.

Then you look out here...several women have posted that they have few or no friends....Camille has male friends.

I dig the company of men. I wish I was a homo....I would be in hog heaven.

I do love women. Maybe I am fortunate, all of my friends are whacked. We are not boring. We don't talk about shit that doesn't matter. I hate doing dinner parties and social shit....When attending such functions, especially with friends, they know that as Muffy rambles on about shopping or her job I'm looking for a fork to stick in her eye.

It's hard to find a chick who has gotten past the all of the bullshit and has become comfortable with herself and her surroundings.

Guys are capable of the same crud....It just seems like women are in the lead.

I have friends on both sides that have meaningful relationships, and some that don't. Both are capable of the same kind of friendships, it's not a sex thing, it's a human thing.

I think either can. If you made a list of the friends I've had, it'd be close to half women, half men.

I have had good, deep, meaningful friendships with both.  Probably more women than men, overall, but I still voted for "Either."

I'm sure both men and women can have deep meaningful friendships.  I've had wonderful friendships with both.
