DUKE LETO
(studying the dark sea below)
I'll miss the sea... but a person needs new experiences... they jar something deep inside, allowing him to grow. Without change, something sleeps inside us... and seldom awakens... The sleeper must awaken.

Fiction or fact?

Explain please.

Confused?
The movie is fiction but what he said is very true for me, for me life IS change and experience. I think I would hate being so static and comfortable in my world that I didn't want to change.

Change for me means growth usually. Of course some changes are not good IMO, becoming jaded or cynical is a change but it is a negative one. Does that mean avoid bad experiences?

Nope. It means that I have to continue until I find my balance again. It also means being with someone not afraid of changes or afraid of growth because I've found it is painful to have one person strive for inner change and the other person complacent.

Please keep in mind that my furkids have woken me up every 90 minutes and I am very short on sleep. In my head all of this makes sense but it may not translate well to text.

Simplistic. Change just for the sake of it can be chaotic. Once you know what works best for you, why deliberately ruin it?
But I'm 53 years old, I've had enough changes forced upon me that didn't cause growth, just stress. Plus I have children and they need stability to grow best. I have no intention of indulging myself and letting them pay the price.
