They only shut down the user created ones.

The yahoo rooms are still there. I guess there were pedophiles setting up rooms to lure kids or something. (Or cops setting up private rooms to lure pedophiles, hard to sort them out these days[;)])

I just want to say that I have totally enjoyed the discussion in this thread!! #2257 has been a bain in My side since early spring and it amazed me that no one in the lifestyle seemed to take notice or even care!

Another beef - granted, we must protect the children but why in the hell am I suddenly responsible for what someone else's child looks at on the internet or in emails. A computer is NOT a toy and a child needs to be governed. It's the responsibility of the PARENTS to clean out emails, to put guards on adult sites, to KNOW what their kids are doing on the computer. Ummm, 21 to drink, 18 to vote, 16 to drive a car - rules created to separate children from adults! Then why can a child log on and do whatever they want? Because the parents don't take responsibility!! *rant over*

Anyway, thanks for shedding light and opening minds by merely discussing the matter!!

It's NCSF (http://www.ncsfreedom.org/)

CollarMe is probably already in violation of the law since they don't have "affirmative identification" (copies of driver's licences, birth certificates, or other government issued IDs) that prove the people in the pictures are not under 18. Since they allow photos showing breasts and breasts have been ruled as "indecent" there is already a certain risk.

You know it's funny how many "stupid" people there are around.

Add leatherquest.com to that list as well. They're the group that stood up to the Concerned Women For America who wanted to shut down Viscious Valentine back in 2002. Not one bit of porn on thier site at all.

Embre,
I think you and your master will have a unique view on the newest restrictions that sites are being forced to follow. Your site shows a journey that you and your mater are currently (blissfully) traveling. But now the government has to "pull you over" to insure all is accordance to the law. Have you and your master had to make any adjustments to "Slavenextdoor.com"?
I think the idea of the law is to help insure that "not of legal" age material is not be spread throughout the internet. (side note: There is a special place in hell for those who molest children). To do this the government wants insure that there is proper records of the age of the people shown on websites.
This will cause a scramble for some sites who record keeping may not be a up to date as they should be. Can this be used as a form of government harassment, sure anything can be used to further a case or agenda. Will this severely affect sites that had kept proper files or have made the adjustments to insure this paperwork is on "file", probably not?
- Or am I WAY off the mark here -

Way off the mark. The US Government in the person of Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales is now waging a war on porn.

quote:

The new squad will divert eight agents, a supervisor and assorted support staff to gather evidence against "manufacturers and purveyors" of pornography -- not the kind exploiting children, but the kind that depicts, and is marketed to, consenting adults.
"Based on a review of past successful cases in a variety of jurisdictions," the memo said, the best odds of conviction come with pornography that "includes bestiality, urination, defecation, as well as sadistic and masochistic behavior." No word on the universe of other kinks that helps make porn a multibillion-dollar industry.

I think it’s a way to prop up Bush and his cronies. The christain right was not sure about Gonzales, but is now swinging behind him. Even the FBI doesn’t seem happy with this.
Read the novel 1984 and rent the movie Canadian Bacon http://origin.mgm.com/title_title.do?title_star=CANADIAN
A War On Porn is a good way to distract the people from what is really happening.

hmm I think someone should send the FBI a copy of the Passion of the Christ... see how that is viewed....
Let Bush defend that one

Their goal is to criminalize some adult material with obscenity laws.
Bill H.R. 3726 also called The Child Pornography Protection Act of 2005 makes depictions of sadism, masochism, urination, scat and bestiality obscene.
This law also demands that all non obscene adult sites be regulated and pay a tax.

woodsbunny -> RE: porn Squad attacks! (11/5/2005 5:55:28 PM)

I've enjoyed reading through this thread. Regulation 2257 has affected me personally -- in a small way. I have three web sites, two dealing with erotic material. One of the two is an ASSTR author's site with stories. For some of the stories I use portions of vintage photos (including bondage photos from the 40s and 50s) for graphics (size is limited to 5 kb). And I guess I should remove those. Sigh.

I also have an adjunct site to the story site which shows a portion of my collection of vintage (circa 1930-1960) erotic magazines and photographs. The bondage photo section was taken off in early June which is sad since I've added over 200 vintage bondage photographs (including a number of 1950s John Willie photos) to my collection since then.

While the photographs predate 1995, and include no minors, I would be unable to PROVE that they are vintage images in court without incurring enormous expense. And my reading of 2257 is that the onus of proof is on me. I would also, as per the regulation, have to publish online an address (i.e., my home address) where authorities could come to go through any materials I have.

Does this make kids safer? Absolutely not. Most sexual and physical abuse of children is done by family members.

Oh well.

In Manitoba Canada (just in case you don't know where Manitoba is ;-)lol ) we have come up with a way to fight kiddy porn that does not include attacking or punishing everyone.

Our police force has a special unit that investigates child porn. Plus there is an online reporting resource. It grew out of child find and is now one of the best sites for dealing with the problem around:

Seems better then saying all adults are evil don’t you think?

TyrEldred -> RE: porn Squad attacks! (11/7/2005 6:48:24 PM)

So, even though consenting adults are viewing adult related material such as BDSM, etc in the privacy of their own homes, the government feels it is their right to be able to regulate the material being viewed?
This is not material being flashed on TV, Billboards or (vanilla) movie theaters, this is not material that is exploiting children this is material create by consenting adults being viewed by a consenting adult in the "privacy" of our own homes.
Something seems very, very wrong here when the government begins to limit the freedom of speech of consenting, law abiding adults

HeavenlyCeleste -> RE: porn Squad attacks! (11/13/2005 3:39:42 PM)

My big concern is the statement about having children involved...even if it is just a story that kind of thing is crossing the line.

LATEXBABY64 -> RE: porn Squad attacks! (11/18/2005 8:34:40 AM)
