Of all of Andy Sipowicz' partners, none were more loved than John Kelly and Bobby Simone. Viewers are split down the middle on which they preferred (Kelly fans say that Caruso was the original and the best, Simone fans say that the producers wanted Jimmy Smits anyway), so I want to take a poll on who was the favourite partner. Vote away!

I'm going to rally for including Rick Schroder, as Danny Sorenson. Jimmy Smits and Rick Schroder were my favourites!

At the time (that Caruso was on there.) I didn't care for him. I mentioned to my dad that I thought he acted like he was arrogant, egotististical and selfish. (I kind of like him in CSI, he isn't boring, thats for sure.)My dad predicatably said, "who says he's acting?" lol. Before Blue, I wasn't a fan of Jimmy. (he was weird on LA Law.) but I immedietly liked him on Blue. And was upset that they killed him off. I had loved Rick in Silver Spoons, (he was so cute.) I don't remember him from anything else til Blue. ehh. He was ok, seemed to have the potential to grow into a solid charecter, but then he was killed off. Now for voting, I would for Mark Paul. (yes I still watch Saved by the Bell, whenever I can. and I liked him in the made for TV movie about killer soroties. sp?) So sorry, not picking ethier of the choices. :)

i would have included Rick Shroeder/Mark Paul G. but Kelly/Simone were so popular and Rick S's character was pretty short lived (no pun intended). Did Mark Paul finish the series or was he replaced too? Edited to add that i included the above in the poll

Oh, when they killed off Bobby Simone, that was one of the most heartbreaking episodes of anything I've ever seen. Jimmy Smits just tears your heart out. As for why they kept killing off good actors, have you ever seen the retrospective they did, about that show? When you hear about the insanity and the pressure, you begin to understand why actors were opting out of that show, despite the success it meant for them. Was it Jimmy Smits? who was talking about how sometimes they'd start shooting an episode with no script. They'd write lines for the actors to memorize and act, on the spot, or even make them improvise, based on an outline of the scene. And as I recall, there was at least one head writer who was acting insane due to drug abuse. It was not fun.

lol ty for adding Rick and Mark Paul to the poll. found it amusing that noone voted for Caruso. I could never dotv acting. I would rather put a gun to my head then deal with that. Mark Paul did finish out the series, but by the last episode he was (seem to me.) a pretty minor charecter. I liked that they had made Andy a captain. He really grew in that charecter, went thru and survived so much. As much as I liked Andy, I DID not like the buttshots. though I didn't mind seeing Caruso's. smirks
