ORIGINAL: Politesub53 Im not sure eaxactly what you mean by "as such " AQ certainly existed from the early 90`s. AQ is a useful bogeyman created by the U.S. government. At best its a loose knit cluster of terrorist cells comprised of radical Islamists - so loose our own governments supposedly don't know or won't reveal how it's structured; at worse it's a pointless umbrella term used as a bogeyman to instill fear into the population and to get funding for anti-terrorist / control of the population agendas. Two things: a lot of this is from the BBC, normally although not always a reputable news source. And no one seems very bothered about the whereabouts of OBL, the man who claimed responsibility for 9/11. Does no one else find this odd? Reread those Bush quotes up-thread. With all of our surveillance tech we can't find one guy on a kidney machine? Ridiculous. With all of its millions of dollars and thousands of adherents AQ cannot mount another attack of some sort? Why not? And yet this organization is supposed to exist. Great links I have posted and reposted again and again: http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=1609906 If all of this reminds you of the last part of Orwell's 1984 (the Goldstein essay), maybe that's not a mistake.
