Hey everyone... just got myself a sister subbie - so happy - but she's a vegan so leather and all doesn't work for her... anyone know of any good vegan-friendly bondage gear sites that I could suggest to my dom? I know of veganerotica.com

Alot of things come to mind.... pvc, rope, most crops and paddles aren't made out of real leather anyways so why does it matter? Most adult toy stores carry items that you could use. Also you could make your own by going to a fabirc story and buying pleather *fake leather*.

You could also buy a book on shibari/rope knots etc, and make rope cuffs etc... There are tons of things you can do :)

rope just dont have the same appeal to us as leather cuffs do. Wondering mostly, if anyone knows of a good site with a variety of cuffs that aren't all leather. I've seen rubber and i think nylon cuffs - i dunno - somehting like that.

Extreme Restraints has some items that would work for you I think.

Neoprene Super Cuffs

Sport Cuffs and Tethers

Locking Rubber Restraints

Locking Rubber Collar

There are other bondage items, as well as toys, that appear to be vegan friendly on their site.

Enjoy...Tasha

Thanks for the links. I also checked out www.sub-shop.com - they have a nice selectio of vinyl, rubber, neoprine (sp?). I think my best bet would be to go with the Lorica products from veganerotica.com - my master likes the color, white, for cuffs - and the lorica cuffs come in white.

Has anyone actually used any vegan BDSM gear before? I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian not a vegan, but I do try to not wear leather if and when I can. I'm wondering if the quality of these products are just as good as the leather ones.

I know that there is some really high quality rubber gear out there, not based on veganism but on the fetish some folks have for rubber.

Nylon makes a good substitute for leather and can be more comfortable for long term wear. How does she feel about Metal; handcuffs, and shackles can be real power trips. Nylon rope wrapped multiple times around wrists or ankles can simulate a cuff, and rope wrapped between two wrist wraps can simulate chains between the wraps. "The Mistress Manual, A Guide to Female Domination" shows pictures and diagrams for such rope bondage applications. Extreme Restraints.com has bondage cuffs made of non-leather material. Binding opera gloves made of silk are available as well. Bondage.com has a store as part of their website that also offers non-leather components. Good luck.

Check out Aslan Leather
 http://www.aslanleather.com/

They have Vegan stuff and there products are beautiful.  My wrist and ankle cuffs and collar come from there (althought not vegan) and they are incredible and come with a lifetime warranty.  Plus the owner is female and really cool.

They have cuffs, and even a harness "Made from sturdy, breatheable synthetic leather this harness fits the body like a glove and it's %100 animal friendly!"

They also have rubber and vynal stuff

For one of the most wonderful women I have ever known, who also happened to be vegan, I had these very special cuffs made, that picture is about 6 years old and the woman who made them has gotten even better.  I am not sure that the price is correct, but tell her you heard it from Michael and she will be nice to  you.

I have seen lots of restraints and collars on ebay lately that are vegan friendly.  They looks like patient leather, but are actually PVC.  And there is always PVC, vinyl, latex, plastic, pleather, etc.
