YourhandMyAss -> Any kink aware therapists with sliding scale on no to low end in Sacramento? (4/19/2008 10:09:12 PM)

I looked on the kink aware site and their therapists are all in Sanfransico and berkly an stuff, and no I can not get to berkly or SF every week for therapy. I need an extreamly low scale I am talking about 2 or three dollars a session, and so far I have not found much in the way of super low scale.

Chelle, I could be mis-remembering, but didn't you say that you were on disability? Medicare and Medi-Cal covers psychotherapy.

Have you checked out Alliant University (formerly known as the California School of Professional Psychology)? There is a campus in Sacramento. At the campus in the city where I live, the upper level students perform therapy under supervision of licensed psychologists. I believe the fee is $10 or $20 per session.  Their web page is here.

Also check to see if the University of California system has a psychology or psychiatry "field office" in Sacramento.  The UC San Francisco psychiatry department has an entire program in my city (and I'm a few hours from San Francisco), where the doctors studying psychiatry treat patients in their 3rd year of studying in the specialty.  I believe they are also a $10 program, so it would be worth checking for that too.

Yes. I am on disability, and I do have both forms of insurance. care and cal.  I know that kiaser provides free therapy, but honestly their tharapists sucked an they only had room to see you once a month. Is pycho therapy diffrent than regular therapy?
No I never knew anything about California School of Professional Psychology.

Psychotherapy is just another term for mental health therapy.
