I have just remembered I had a freaky dream last night, which is something I care to note, as often I don't remember them.
This one was the teeth falling out dream, but a bit more severe in that the whole one side of the jaw broke free and came out and I was holding it in my hands seeing it was old and decayed, but trying to shove it back in, but it kept falling out. In the dream I tried to go to a doctor to get it fixed, but I was being ignored as they carried on with something else, but then noticed me and my plight, and agreed to fix it, but pushed me aside, I got the feeling I was being listened to but at the same time fobbed off.

Anyone any ideas to that ?

If your life is that evening meal being cooked, then dreams are the content of your fridge. Some elements of your dreams can go to make up a life, but some elements are nothing but irrational fears or assumptions. Unlike in life, there is no such thing as reason in dreams.

Visionaries have quite the same challenge. Having a dream is just as easy as having a vision. The challenge comes in being able to interpret it correctly.

Yes, it means you have a fear of your teeth falling out, ending up in your hand and further, that your dentist won't act on it in a professional manner.

(Glad I could help).

I've seen a few people mention that teeth falling out means a fear of saying something foolish, but I was always under the impression that it meant you were feeling insecure about yourself.  Since your whole jaw was involved, though, maybe it was not just a fear of saying the wrong thing, but perhaps you actually did say something you've been agonizing about?  And the fact that the dentist was unconcerned probably means that you've got no real reason to worry about it, that the conflict or impending problems are all in your head.

http://www.dreammoods.com  has a few of the more common dream symbols and their meanings in an easily-searchable database, and it's free.  I've got a huge book on it somewhere on my shelves but I can't find it at the moment.

People, people get a grip and stop making this about you Aneirin has just had a dream that predicts he is going to die.

Going to die, that is the least of my worries, it is the living that is difficult. I have looked into the abyss before, I certainly don't fear death, as death is just a gateway to who knows what.

No, not death, I have'nt finished here yet !

It's not I that said your dream meant you would die. Personally I think dreams are important because as someone else pointed out they are a collection of all the current questions that are going through your mind before you go to bed. So you can find meaning in them.

Death is life's last adventure but there is no real hurry to go on it. Don't bank on there being an after party.

Best off not talking to me actually because I have a real knack of depressing people with this subject.

Hey, don't worry, I am not taking your suggestion seriously, like I said, I got a lot of living to do yet, and a lot to make up for.

As for you depressing me, I don't need you for that, I am good enough at that myself. But if I do run short on depressing vibes, I will look you up.

I advise doing some free association to analyze your dreams.  Get out some blank paper and markers and write out the various elements; teeth, jaw, loss, etc.  What do these things symbolize to you specifically?  Let your imagination wander and write clusters of words around the main word, draw pictures, doodle, and play with the concepts.

Teeth in dreams represent image.  Them falling out in your dream could mean one of two things.  One, you are changing the image.  Two, you are worried that people do not like the image.  When I say image, that is not specifically visual - it is the whole of you.  Teeth are linked to the mouth which in turn is linked to flirtation and sexuality.  It could also be specific to sexual performance and a fear of failing in it.

It basically comes down to a fear of embarressing yourself or making a fool of yourself somehow.

I would also note that NOT eating will cause dreaming also.

I have the same dream......my teeth are just literally breaking off, I can feel the "crumbs" of enamel, I can flake them off with my tongue....it's so real that the first thing I do when i wake up is check my teeth.  Another related dream has to do with chewing gum, it sticks to my teeth, and I have to literally peel it off of them, with my fingers, just digging and pulling repeatedly.

If I stop and think about what's going on in my life, it's usually something going on in my life that I feel like I can't control, or that feels as if it's spinning out of control.  That's the only time I have the dream......which isn't often because it feels so real!!!!  I can feel it in my sleep, and it's the creepiest thing!

Well Hippie, I put something out there off the top of my head for others to chew up, and you bit. Your post only rates a short response, to wit : In the absence of your evaluation of the dream, just what is it you are attacking ? Are you even saying I am  wrong or is this just a statement denoting that you do not like my attitude ? You offer no alternative, and forget links and quotes, not one word of your post refutes on single word of mine. So when comment on peoples' relative intelligence levels start flying I suggest you duck.

Nobody goads me into a conflict with such words, I merely take it as a sign of some degree of disrespect, doubts about my intelligence or a general disagreement with my statement. But as mentioned, I saw no disagreement. Perhaps somepeople need to learn to express themselves more effectively.

Enough on that. Suffice it to say that if you wish to engage in a battle of wits, bring some weapons. (I don't mean guns or anything like that).

For a time in my life I had a recurring dream in which I broke TV picture tubes and ate the green stuff off the inside of the screen. Well I know that contains phosphorous. I found some things to eat high in phosphorous and they do not recur.

Another recurrent dream I had was brushing my teeth and having them fall out, and in this circumstance, in the dream I had just gotten out of jail or prison and was getting cleaned up to go get my first steak dinner in years, in fact surf-n-turf.

I think the body and mind work together in many ways which we have yet to understand.

Right now we need to see dreams as a possible pointer to a solution to a problem in our life, whether we are aware of it or not. What I gave was MY interpretation. I thought that was what was asked for. I can't guaratee that it is accuratre for anyone else, in a thread like this you just read it, and maybe someone hits with the right answer, maybe not. This is not an exact science to say the least.

How my dreams, coupled with my life experiences impelled me to make changes in my life is not the debate here.

And the only thing resembling a comic book I ever read was Mad magazine. Oh wait, I was getting a porn magazine that had a comic section, I did read that but only a few of them. IT IS amazing what they can in a comic that can't do in real life :-)

Hmmmmmmmmm.

Dreams of tooth lose- is fear of loosing power.

If you cant chew food- it is symbolic of  loosing ones agileness, ability, potence.

So- to remedy, examin where your power is diminishing and fix it

Hunky, I am of the opinion that the body knows better what it needs than we conciously are aware of.

I believe that in the days before chemical spices like refined salt and sugar and a few other things, the tast buds were put in the body to determne what was good to eat. Today, people's pallate is swamped with these chemicals that taste better than anything in nature ever could.

This has warped one of the natural properties of the human body that has enabled it's survival throughout the millenia. However I believe that the body still knows.

Now you scoffers of my assessment, if you are even reading this you must be giving some creedence to the notion that dreams can steer one towards answers. It's obvious that if you go to sleep with the day's thoughts going through your head, or some psychological issue might find some direction in dreams. Ever heard the term "I'll sleep on it" ?

That means your subconcious mind is trying to speak to you. If not for that assumption this thread would not exist. Neither would any of the responses.

Now who here can say that there is not one of two possibilities that would make my statement about minerals hold water ? Possibility one is that maybe the body can communicate with the mind, possibly in a very rudimentary way, but who can say it does not happen ?

And then there is the possibility that the brain itself could be aware of certain deficiencies just in the bloodstream. This is alot less magic than the former. Can anyone say it isn't so ?

I am all ears.
