What are your thoughts on the upcoming NFL draft? I haven't missed the first day in years.... The gym I belong to throws a little pot-luck breakfast together and a bunch of us tune in. quote:
What will the Cowboys do with their two draft picks? Will they trade up or stay pat? They could move up to grab Mendenall if it looks good, but personally, I think the boys will stay right where they're at. I think they'll take a big receiver--in the mold of Irvin--with their first pick and a RB or CB with their second pick. quote:
Is Matt Ryan overrated? I think this is the deepest quarterback draft in a while and I like Ryan. I think the Chiefs will swoop him up with their first pick. quote:
Is Derin McFadden comparable to Adrian Peterson? Nah....McFadden is more in the mold of Bush than Peterson. Mendenall with his shiftiness and great burst is more of a Peterson type back. quote:
Some draft pundits consider Jake Long to be the third best OT in draft. Personally.....I like Otah over Clady or Long. Otah is a mauler with the best feet in the draft. I think Clady is more overrated than Long though. quote:
Will Joe Flacco be the best QB in the end? He threw for a lota yards without many picks, but I think Brohm has a much bigger upside. quote:
Who is your sleeper? (I like Steve Slaton from WV in the later rounds.) My sleepers are Lavelle Hawkins and Shawn Crable, with Crable hopefully going to my Niners. Crable had 29 reps on the BP for a lanky guy. The brother is hella athletic, has great quickness around the ends, and long-ass arms--to bat down balls-- in the mold of Manny Lawson. quote:
As a Ravens fan, I hope that BAL can trade down and take Brian Brohm further back in the draft. Hopefully for my Niners we select Groves/Phillips, Talib/Cherilus and Crable. - R
