Status: offline 		i've read books on the study of sleep. it was stated,
"the king sleeps on his back, for he is sure of his position in the world.
"the noble sleeps on his side, to be ready to advance.
"and the peasant on his belly, to protect his vital organs,"
i'm paraphrasing and can't cite the books, since i have in fact slept since then.
curious am i as to how others sleep and their role in BDSM.
just wondering-

Status: offline 		well i have a sleep disorder but when im actually asleep most comfy is on stomache...

it usually takes me 2-3 hours to fall asleep...then i wake up in an hour...then another 1-2 hours get back to sleep..etc.

in an 12 hour night i might get 4 hours sleep.  i wakeup at 12..go to bed around 2am.  on average though...so not always 12 hours.

i cant afford sleep meds..otherwise i'd be on em.  they're like 1.50 per pill.

I am told that I snore rather horribly-like an army of loggers cutting down a rain forest.

Status: offline 		I sleep on my side (fetal position) most of the night.. but I will also sleep on my back (usually spread-eagled, or with my arms folded under my head).  Sometimes stomach, but thats not as common.
What any of that says about me in context of BDSM, I have NO idea..LOL

Status: offline 		Master has always slept on His belly. i slept on mine until i got married, then started sleeping on my back.
i don't think there is any relation, between the two. just wanted to see who slept how.

Status: offline 		i tend to sleep on my side, but sometimes wake up on my back...when i was thin, i always slept on my belly, with my hands under my hipbones, but when i got fat, i grew these huge tits & that's not comfortable to lie on!!

Status: offline 		I tend to toss and turn quite a bit when I sleep, so I would have to choose all three answers in the poll.  I am also rather vicious about stealing the blankets and hitting with my elbows and knees.

I start on my belly and move to my side, if i feel the need to streach my spin i move to my back, then my other side, then my belly once more, then to the side i just moved from into a small adorible little ball and then by this time unless Ive told myself a lot of times before bed that im not going to take all the covers tonight the covers have wrapped themselves around me and my bed mate is now a very cold person.. -shrugs- Always smart to keep extra ones on the floor on the side they sleep on.

Status: offline 		I usually start on my belly and end up in any manner of twisted and haphazard arrangement. Limbs hang off the bed, blankets get twisted, the cat often settles himself somewhere peculiar. That's usually when I stop moving around, once the cat has laid upon me and pinned me down.

Status: offline 		Right  foot over the end of the bed, lying on my tummy left leg  hitched up..... nine times out of ten, altho I do fall alseep on my left side in the curly up position.
I have sleep issues too, sleeping for a while, then waking up and taking a long time to get back to sleep, four or five times a night, gets real old.
But I absolutely cannot sleep on my back, never have been able to.

Status: offline 		i sleep on my left side kind of leaning in towards my tummy. i have a pillow between my knees and i  hug a pillow too .  i can't lay on my back due to lower back injury that caused problems and i can't sleep on my right hip due to arthritis from the back injury. i used to sleep on my tummy till i got all fat. but since i have been losing weight, i have done it a few times lately, yay .
