MladyHathor -> Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 8:16:14 AM)

is it Me or do Doms not lean toward Pro status? Why is that?

Leatherist -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 8:17:53 AM)

A lot of it seems to be about discouraging do me bottoms. [:D]

antipode -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 8:22:22 AM)

Yes

kinkypuppy2 -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 8:32:27 AM)

The big difference between pro and non pro is that a Pro charges for their time.

Many Doms just like to beat people and are willing to do it for free.
To do it and get paid, Hey thats a dream job  :-) but many just do not wish to charge for their work.

OldBastardly1 -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 8:39:04 AM)

There is not as much of a market demand for pro male Doms as there is a market demand for pro female Dommes. Women ( and most men ) have been conditioned that the supply/demand ratio is unbalanced in the female's  favor. Women are just not as eager to pay a pro as a man is.

Constrictor1 -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 4:00:32 PM)

Cause I don't need the money[:)]

domiguy -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 4:02:07 PM)

Dudes have always paid and too many women have always been willing to accomodate their needs.

It's the way of things.

DesFIP -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 4:17:33 PM)

Women don't have to pay.

However gay doms do have a ready market. As a friend of mine used to say, bemoaning the lack of tops, "everyone wants to get fucked, nobody wants to fuck".

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 4:33:32 PM)

Male doms aren't as in demand and they generally want sex rather than money in currency.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/22/2008 7:25:45 PM)

I have been asked to do private pro work, public demos and films.  I refused.  Yet I will unabashedly display my property in a wild and sadistic show in a public dungeon.  Whether it is ego, because it proves her dedication as property or because the audience feeds our exhibitionistic energies doesn’t matter.  It is a labor of love and I couldn’t do it for money.  Getting paid for it would squelch the core of my motives.

Also, I think the whole male Dom in demand thing must be regional because in Florida the female submissives claim it is hard to find a good male Dom, yet we have plenty of FemDom(me).

I would have to agree about the market
For every 1 male sub that seeks a Pro Domme there is 100 that seeks a gay dom

However
I disagree for the supply
For every 100 Pro Dommes there is 1 Pro Gay Dom

Most often...gay men can find a plenitful source of gay doms that are willing to take a sub man (though... for every 10 subs there is 1 dom)

These are not EXACT figures mind you... but I am sure you get the point....

EDIT:
Unless if you are referring to the gay female market.....

I'll work for either.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/23/2008 2:56:56 AM)

There are Pro Doms. I know...ummm...one. They cater to the gay community. Why? Because 99% of the Pro consumer is male. Those men are either gay, bi or het. So, if you're a male Dom, chances are you're working with gay and bi men.

For the same reason you see relatively few male prostitutes.

With apologies to Fred Garvin.

I can't speak for anyone else... but I have no wish to be a service Top.. paid or otherwise.

Actually.. there are plenty of them, again, they cater to gay men...

lanie38 -> RE: Another Pro Thread (4/23/2008 5:51:02 AM)

~fast reply~

It's redundant but I'll reiterate anyway...

Women don't need to pay when so many are willing to do it for free....
