I love that there still are uncontacted people. (That woman in the link is very beautiful.) It is so boring and mean what white folks did to the uncontacted people when they contacted them. Hiawatha had a vision before his uncontacted peeps became contacted. There is a Story Belt, (made out of wampum, which is quahog shell made into beads and woven in distinct geometric patterns of white and purple shell) called the "Everlasting Tree Belt. This belt confirmed all the laws adopted by the Great Council made at Onandaga at the ceremonies of the founding of the Peace League. At that time Hiawatha made a prophecy that there would come a day when a monster would come out the sea and force the United People; the Iroquois to adopt a New Law, that there would come a time of great trouble to the Iroquois, that they would be bewildered and divided not knowing which way to turn for relief, and when that time came they, the Iroquois would seek again their ancient law. Hiawatha said he would return at that time and aid them, that when they grasped the Everlasting Tree the second time the ancient Law would be stronger than the it was at first. State Museum of Albany". I found this information in the Smithsonian Institute downtown Manhattan, the Native American Indian Museum where I searched in the libraries on 'wampum' because I have an Indian friend who makes it and I wanted to understand what it was all about.
