I'm fairly new to this lifestle. I've been reading alot of the posts. In one of the discussions, a couple of different people told a woman to go to her BDsM checklist to get more info on an issue, in this case it was about different kinds of humiliation.. anyway, can someone elighten me as to what a BDsM checklist is?

It's a checklist to define what you've done, what you haven't done, what you're interested in, etc. A quick google search will bring up more hits than you can shake a stick at. Here is just one.

BTW these things are so often poorly use that they get a bad reputation. It's not the list that is bad it's the way they are used.

Use them to open your mind to possibilities, to generate DISCUSSION about the various activities listed.
For most items this means about a minute or two to discuss why you don't like them.
Or a couple minutes discussing why you do.
When it comes to things that give you strong reactions to think about it might mean an entire evening discussing that one item.
Take as long as you need to really cover each item when you discuss them.

I have always used checklists with new slaves and subs to let them see what is out there, to help them figure out what it is they would like to try and what they might want to stay away from in the initial stages. Newcomers do not always have very broad ideas of what is involved, and there are many many ideas that can be brought about.

Just check "all of the above" and see what happens.

I just recently (like, 2 hours ago lol) filled 2 pretty extensive ones out, and since I copy/ pasted it into a Word document, I could add little notes and things explaining an idea or a specific scene. I am going to sit down with my boyfriend and hopefully find a few more things we are interested in, and either were to embarassed to mention or just forgot when it came time to do what we do. ^^

I filled one out way back when I was fairly new and then like 4 years ago, an the potential i filled it out for had a fit cause I put hard limit on anything to do with sex, since our relationship wasn't going to be about sex or sex play lol.

BDSM checklists are a lot like Cosmo sex surveys... They don't tell you much, but they are a great ice breaker with your partner, and/or parties. No, really! Get onto the subject of sex, and possibly playing with something a bit "kinky" and you can suddenly say, "Oh, hey, I remember this checklist thingie I saw on the net... Let me print one out (although you already have) and let's go over it... just for fun." From there you can lead into "Hey, let's try number seven out tonight! What do you say?"

Sometimes, communication about difficult, or potentially embarassing subjects (like how you enjoy being on the end of a leash and made to bark like a dog while being taken anally... as an example) need to have some way of being kicked off. These checklists are great for this, if nothing else.

Good List I have seen it before. Cross refernce it with the one that Cali put up and you will see that they are different but the "Owner" of the first one "Copyrighted" it and is trying to scare people away from using them.

Oddly writers who know about copyright explain that those particular ideas can be copyrighted in SINGLE FORMAT which means that your version have to be identical for her to have grounds for suit.

Where was I trying to speak for someone? The OP asked what it was, and since what it was was already answered, I simply offered my two cents on what a checklist could help accomplish. Please re-read my post and point out where I was trying to speak for everyone, I would love to see it.
