Dang...

Quite frankly, I'm dissappointed in the way this thread has turned out.  Two of my favorite people, too...  <sigh>    It's quite odd, though...that Thompsonx is banned for life and this crap goes on and on.  Thompson was actually more entertaining, in my book...though I mean no disrespect to the good men, here.  I have no idea what has happened between them.

a pissing contest by any other name, dunno how this got so playground to be honest.

To the op, I have heard it refered to as dropping into space, not ever heard of the negative down as being a goal or aim.

I see sub drop and subspace as two different things.    I have never actually felt anything that I would consider to be subspace.

But I have experienced subdrop.  I've never known anyone to consider subdrop a goal, including myself, but the one thing I can say about it is that I've only experienced it after sessions that were intense in which my emotions were heightened and varied.  In other words, if I get subdrop it's a sign that the session was good.  (Maybe thats why some see it as a goal? I don't know)

Maybe someone already made this point. I didn't read the whole thread.

As far as 'sub-drop' being the goal...that's right up there with beating someone with the goal of making them 'call Red'...in my opinion.

I like to make someone fly from the pure enjoyment of our play...but I see 'sub-drop' as merely the afterglow of a really good time.  Even experiencing it myself, it is more like wandering around with cotton in my ears than really being a 'bad' thing.......but perhaps that's cuz I had so much fun?

And aftercare, in my book, is part of the scene...one of the most intimate parts; I love providing that part, too.

Even I would agree He isn't, We may have a personality clash (always have had since meeting on here a couple of years ago), and I will admit 'asshole' was My first impression, but You can tell a lot about who someone really is (Reather than the very limited aspect you get to see through a forum like this) by the reflection You see of them in their girl/s.... There is definatly more than meets the eye, as He has much to be proud of with both of them.

I still find Focus more fun to 'spar' with though

Oh yes, that is another thing I have seen that very much gets Me biting My tounge and getting Me to note who it is so they never get chance to be so stupid with anyone *I* have responcibility for!

I love reactions, sending them flying is a very enjoyable reaction to get (Though sometimes I will play in a manner to lessen that possibility if I am aiming for some specific other reaction.).

I definatly agree with you regarding aftercare, it is enjoyed in its own right as well as being something I see as part of My duty of care.

Wow..... hahaha...

There weren't many subtleties to observe or interpret here, however. It was pretty straightforward: two Doms were having a 'I'm bigger than you' contest. Still, it was fun while it lasted.

Yeah... going to have to agree with you on that one

i have experienced sub space...for hours after a scene, i have also experienced sub drop where something during the scene and i couldn't cope. i tried to "get back into" reality and just crashed and burned...headache, vomiting, dizziness...it was so scary...or the time i was in sub space and had my arms broken...that "dropped" me fast!! i was sick for days....doc said it was shock...but then i wonder if a bad" sub drop" is just like that....shock..the bodies way of coping with a stressful issue...i have not every used or heard of the "sub drop" being good but then if i read i couldn't figure out what the person was talking about during the conversation i would just ask..."i love it when Master "drops" me into subspace" vs "sub "drop" makes me physically ill" as with all in life --- its a matter of personal interpretation and opinion... pamela**Master Dragon's considered slave**The world must welcome leaches.....They are after all............. blood suckers and very effective on bruises..........

Well I never usually bother with threads on CM, but as I think a text of mine started this one, perhaps I should be allowed to add my two pence worth.

In my world Dropping a Sub, and Sub Drop are two completely differnet things.

As has been said in a few of the posts Sub Drop is the experience the sub goes through after a play session, its a downer, depressive, the sub feels low shakey, perhaps cold. Its a time when depending on the sub they may need a lot of care and attention. Every sub and every experience of Sub Drop is differnt.

The time delay and the triggers to create sub drop are also different every time. Because of this its never easy to know how a girl will react and is a perential problem for Dom (mes) and subs who live a distance apart in that the Dom (me) can not always be there to support the sub again for those of us have to work not being there in the day is also an issue.

Every Dom (me) sub partnership deal with this in different ways.

Dropping a sub however is the term I use for the creation of the "floppy jelly" you oftern get as the sub "drops" from normal conciousness into that of SubSpace.

Many believe that this only happens as a result of play sessions but this is not the case at all, if you have the right connection you can take a sub to Sub Space just by talking to them - even over the phone

So for me to "Drop a sub" has nothing to do with Sub Drop although that might well be a consequence of the original droping the sub into Sub Space.

I hope that clears it up :-)

To direct ppl back to the topic...

My Dom talks of wanting to "drop" me, or to get me to "drop" whilst playing.  We both know it means he wants me to wander off into subspace.  We use the term "drop" because I have a background in hypnosis, and so "drop" into trance/relaxation, and subspace is an extension of that.  It's just the terminology we use, not necessarily what everyone else uses, as long as we know what we mean, it's okay, right?

That totally makes sense to me.  And you guys don't call it "sub drop" so there shouldn't be much confusion.
