Ooparts, maybe evidence of ancient ,advanced mechanised intelligence, no archaeologist worth their salt will even talk about these finds.

Anyone here have any thoughts, or should we just accept what the learned say ?

Oh, a link;

Ancient cultures weren't as primitive as we like to think they were, one just has to read their literature for that and many had relatively advanced technologies, there are many examples. However, if you are suggesting they had artificial intelligence as we define it today, then no, I don't think they came anywhere near that.

Oh yes, it turned on their creators and ate them.

It was on discovery of this oopart theory, that I began to wonder about so many legends, and myths that I had read over the years, like flaming spears, and the Gae Bolga. There are other examples in legends and folk tales, and people painted with wings, maybe that being a suggestion that they flew. The ongoing translation of vedic texts, throws up some ideas, just things like that, who is to say the ancients were so steeped in the fantastical, surely those people might be much like us today, trying to explain the things that they saw.

Interesting theories, based upon the oopart finds, might even suggest an origin for our modern day spiritual beliefs.

Myths are interesting. I was listening to a BBC World service report on violence in the Congo today and they were interviewing a young Congolese woman who had her legs hacked off by a gang of bandits. She was told that she was going to be taken to a White clinic. and she said (I paraphrase) 'I was overjoyed to know I was going to be taken to a White people's clinic, I heard they (Whites) can do great things. I thought I was going to be given back my legs.'

Just my opinion but considering that a pork chop in today's landfills may be around for hundreds of years...I can't believe there was a  billion strong civilisation that disappeared with just a few vague artifacts and that's all.

Hell we know most every kind of dinosaur and algae that ever lived but we can't confirm a civilisation that supposedly had developed materials superior to ours today?...Never happened.

Suppose the same could be said about the existence of  flying objects from a superior technology, or is it the wish is to keep such  things quiet ?

Neither can I. What texts or facts do they reference to when claiming that very large number?

Gotta love how the website leaps from anomalous fossils and findings to therefore the bible must be the complete and literal truth and our narrow interpretation must be the definitive take so you will all burn in hell unless you accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour...

Got an agenda guys?

Wouldn't it be wonderful to find out that our current modern technology is actually quite primative?

It probably is but unfortunately it is more advanced than we are as people.

I know, I know, I got up out of the wrong side of the bed.

See also cargo cults -

Overview

"An isolated society's first contact with the outside world can be a shock — often the natives first will assume that the newcomers are spiritual beings of some kind who possess divine powers. Attempts may be made to fit the contact into the existing beliefs of the culture. Sharing of wealth by leaders often is part of the beliefs and social traditions in the Micronesian native cultures. With time, however, it will inevitably become apparent that the outsiders are mortal, that their power comes from their equipment (or cargo), and that they are not sharing the materials with the natives. Reliance upon cultural traditions may suggest that proper rituals are not being followed, especially in a culture that has been altered by colonists and missionaries, but that devising new rituals may result in the fulfillment of their expectations."
