DocRudy -> Waxing... Long Term Repercussions? (4/23/2008 12:50:06 PM)

I find that shaving, while nice, lasts just about as long as it takes me to walk back to my desk before I start getting stubble again. Then shaving again soon after that leads to a lot of skin irritation, mostly in the form of those red shaving bumps and whatnot. Quite painful. I've tried Nair, and it's again alright the first time, but doesn't work very thoroughly, nor for more than a couple days longer than shaving. So I've been considering waxing, both genitals, and legs (as per the requests of my lady :P). Additionally, I love keeping my head shaved during the warmer months, like now, but am looking for aslightly longer-term solution than the shaving I mentioned above. BOTTOM LINE however, I worry about the long-term effects of waxing, as I've heard that with repeated waxing, it actually thins out the hair that does grow back over time. Is there any truth to this? I certainly don't feel like artificially making myself bald full-time. Any truth to this? Or should I wax without worry? Any advice on the situation, waxing or otherwise, would help greatly. Thank you. :) Doc P.S. I ask this here because I wasn't able to find the info I was looking for using the search function, and because this waxing I speak of is more or less in the realm of the D/s relationship I am in.
