Quivver -> Revisited Youth or Better titled Old B Movies (10/12/2005 2:20:48 PM)

A few weeks back something sparked my memory of an old B Movie
I'd seen years ago. So I ran off to Ebay in search of...... Flesh Gorden
So I bid more then a VHS was worth, waited 3 weeks for it to finally come
and the entire time I was hoping I'd still find the humor in it. Hee heee,
last night found me laughing once again.
Dumb Dumb Dumb, but just toooo funny IMHO.

Anyone else have a Dumb ole Favorite?

Mom and Dad Save the World

I think that might've been just a cable movie my stepmom recorded, but it's still so bad so you have to laugh.

Don't think I've seen either. I remember when Killer Tomatoes came out there were several food oriented movies. Or perhap's there was that rat movie? All of the rats everywhere...had some odd name.

Soilent Green. I remember in my 20's I thought the worst movie ever made was Children of the Corn.

Last night I watched John Waters' Cry Baby on tv. It always reminds me of the old Elvis movies though they were closer to being just "Dumb Dumb Dumb" and Cry Baby improves on them by being similar yet "just toooo funny".

Willard, I could'nt stop thinking about it until I remembered the name of the rat movie.

I have two:

The Fearless Vampire Killers, and Silent Running (which is not dumb at all, and is one of the saddest films I've ever seen)

for me its a toss up between an oldie "it's a mad mad mad mad world" and newie " rat race '' .......i'd say if i had to chose tho,...i'd have to say its ''rat race'' its a feel good star studded stupid movie......wait a sec,....no not rat race, although its good, it just is no laugh match for ''white chicks'' ...lol omg....don't know if that last one qualifies as beeing a 'old' movie, but it will someday, and when it does thats the one i'd say was my fav dumb ole movie choice...lol ..i'm cracking up just thinking about it ! ..omg lol

Rat Race rocks. It's all the better if you get to see the gag reel.

The movies I mentioned were the least of my favorites. The worst of the worst so to speak.
My favorite old movie was "The Burbs" with a young Tom Hanks

UtopianRanger -> RE: Revisited Youth or Better titled Old B Movies (10/27/2005 1:53:23 AM)

Not quite a ''B'' movie, but I've always been partial to Mel Brooks in ''Blazing Saddles''

Now for a real old one. I've always thought ''Forbidden Planet'' was awesome.

Oh so not PC!

John Waters and Russ Meyer are the kings of B-all-that-you-can-B Movies in my opinion!

From Meyer's Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

Tommy: What's your point?
Varla: It's of no return, and you've reached it!

Tommy: [about his watch] You can time it on an hour-glass.
Linda: Someone talking about my figure?

Billie: Oh, you're cute... like a velvet glove cast in iron.
~~ compare with my tag line ;-)

From Water's Pink Flamingos

Mr. Vader: Do you believe in God?
Divine: I AM GOD!

From Water's Polyester

Cuddles Kovinsky: At first I thought he was walking his dog. Then I realized, it was his date.

Todd Tomorrow: I got somethin' to show ya, Francine! It's long. And it's sleek. And it's powerful. It's mah new 'vette!

Haha!! I feel like going to rent them now <weg>

I absolutely love the original "Airport" with Dean Martin, Burt Lancaster, Helen Hayes. I think it was pretty popular when it was released but most people say they hate it now. I could watch that video every day! And the Saturday morning Sci-Fi horrors (in the olden days) on our local tv station. My favorite "The Blob" with Steve McQueen.
Oh yes, and every one of the Planet of the Apes" movies. Yes, all of them!

RosaB -> RE: Revisited Youth or Better titled Old B Movies (10/29/2005 7:46:14 PM)

I think it was Called Revenge or Attack of the 50 foot woman, I'm gonna look and see if my library carries it so I can take it out. Something I was reading this past week sparked my memories of that movie. I used to love most movies with giants and shrunken people like in the Incredible shrinking man.

Another favorite was Catbaloo, I was extremely young when I saw that, and can barely remember who was in it. The theme song still plays in my head every now and then.
