Being aquitted is not the end of legal matters for these officers. They willl now face possible federal and civil charges. Lets not forget departmental disiplinary charges/actions that can/will occur.

The family made more of a statement by not speaking to the press....I give them credit for that response.

A sad state of affairs for all parties concerned. This is not a closed story.

And if that doesn't work, employing "revolving door justice system veterans" to handle this the right way, would be a nice change from statements made by Al and Jesse at a rally. I'm sure some would do it for the rep alone. If not, then they'd do it in exchange that their families would be looked after. Otherwise, its the same song and dance from way back.

That was my first thought, too. I had recently saw the case on Tru TV, which was previously known as Court TV. There was a Michael Cooper who represented the National Action Network that they are advising the black community in New York City not to riot and follow the philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It will be interesting to see if there will be any actions taken in Federal Court when these three cops and the department will be sued for violation of civil rights and what the outcome of the case will be for everyone. Perhaps, this will be a wake-up call for some police departments to promote better relationships for communities.
