Most that relocate will meet prior, often with several visits including an extended visit to ensure they are compatible first , and possibly obtaining employment prior to the move and maybe even maintaining a seperate residence initially

i will agree with Maya. If someone has already an established life where he is and we all know how long it takes to make and create that, then we know what we will be missing out if we leave it all and go to the vertualy unknown. i would suggest to take it as a trial see how they can adapt to there new environment, vital living conditions such as employment, language, living conditions, loved ones who are left behind. If an arrangement can be made that would suit one to balance all these then consideration of the next step can be taken. (i suppose)

Yes, but having lived overseas (Australia) once, I know that if you make it too easy to cut and run at the slightest trouble or homesickness, you might not stick it out. Any time you move, whether it's locally or internationally, there are going to be bumps and difficulties. Yes, I have quite an established life here. I know very well what I am giving up. I also have very clear knowledge of what and where I'm moving into. Housing, employment, friends, my partner, location, that's all been addressed and dealt with. I was planning on immigrating back to Australia anyway, now I'm moving east instead of south.... *grins*

And I've always been on the adventurous side!!

I'm in the process of trying to find work in the UK. It's going way more slowly than I care for, and chances are it won't be near Riff, at least not initially. *sigh* But in order to be hired, I'm going to have to be flexible about where I work.

It depends on the individual as to how far they are willing to go. I know of one woman who moved from New Zealand to Georgia. Plus no one should move sight unseen or until they are sure they are certain they are in a good situation, money to leave, job lined up or sufficient savings to hold them at least six months, etc

I have friends who have moved continents....I am currently thinking of moving to the other side of Australia just to have a change of location but this is not due to wanting to be closer to anyone. I think for many people what they mean in regards to relocating also depends upon if they have UM's or other factors which would influence how far they could move.

This is just My personal opinion of the subject.

In My profile, I have very specifically written, "If your email to Me includes the words 'I can relocate', please save us both the time (or is it trouble). I am not interested in anyone in other countries or distant states."

I realize that it works for some, but I have a huge preference for local people.

I used to say I was relocatable. But then I started getting weird contacts from men in far-off parts of the country who wanted me to pick up and move there with little preparation. Since my desire was to relocate only within an area of my state, I decided to take that off my profile.

I like it where I am. I don't want to have to deal with the severe weather conditions that exist in other parts of the country. Wheelchairs and snow are not a happy combination (for me, anyway), and high humidity drains me of energy. I have lived in several different regions of the country - gone through blizzards, tornados, heatwaves, hurricanes, and drenching downpours that seem not to end. Thank you very much, but I'll just live here and anticipate the next earthquake. (And I can experience earthquakes anywhere in the country, in addition to the negative climate conditions.)

Anyway, I'm looking for work now, and I wouldn't want to get a job and then a few months later say, "Oh, by the way, I'm moving to Arizona in a month."

Same here. I started getting people asking me to move to Latvia or Sweden or the Middle East or whatever.... I'm not going to move that far away just to be with somebody i met online.

within the province where i live (ontario canada).
but i can visit anywhere in north america if expenses are covered...cause im poor(though greyhounds not that much $)...but would do it for experience.

i have done the LD thing early on..way back in 2002. relocated 3500 miles away. for a complete bs experience...so...not doing that again.

now then if a hawt awesome accent female Dominant from france(im a citizen of france), sweden, aussie or UK wanted me...um....i would bend the rules....but its so damn expensive so travel would have to be covered and i hate planes but no choice in this matter...

I own property, I have horses and I have a teen vested in My area, it means--you have to be able to either liquidiate your assets and move here, OR be able to travel Allot to be here--I limit it to the US as I do not have the money to help country to country or geography to geography, note I said HELP, I am not a lottery ticket.

international moves can be extremely difficult since your dealing with governments and may need to passed their immigration standards to be allowed to live in the country. For example Canada has free health care but they will severely restrict immigrants with health concerns who have the potential to be a financial drain on the system. so a person who has health conditions and may not be able to work to help pay their own pay their own way and or near retirement age may not be accepted for residency status in Canada, nor does getting married guarantee acceptance

Also the process may be a long drawn out affair that may take years to be approved inorder to have legal status.... so if you decide to get involved with someone outside the country it can be worth talking to a lawyer, know what the risks are of moving to a country illegally or what the process will be like, and the restrictions and time frame is like to enter legally.

I'm not looking to relocate at this time.. however, I only view profiles of submissives who are willing to relocate... Probably won't find one now that it is ready to get really hot in Miami... I had so many responses in Jan and Feb when it was cold and snowy elsewhere.. Where are those snowbirds now?
