It depends, if things are tight, I save them; if not, I don’t. Usually I am saving. At least one reason for pennies is a physiological retail trick; for instance, people tend to look at a price like $9.99, and think “not quite”, where as prices ending, in say .05, evokes a slightly different response. I’m not sure exactly how it works, but it seems as if it causes the person to subconsciously consider the price from a, “what am I getting back in change perspective, instead of, “how much am I paying out". I have not been using my atm card nearly as much as I used to, part of that probably has to do with my present perspective of, “If I’m gonna get robbed, I would rather it go to the average citizen, then the businesses that might get my number and steal from me that way. k
