If you try to formulate something that "people want to hear", you'll never hear from them. Better to let them know what about their profile interested you. Why did you feel compelled to send a message? How to you compliment their desire. Start by just telling the truth, don't be afraid to expose a bit of yourself, (emotionally mentally, not a necessarily a full frontal nude pic!) and you'll have a better chance of getting a response.
