At the end of August kingrichard089 posted a topic regarding Bastinado... sub4hire mentioned not ever seeing this at a party and I just had to come repost, lol. About a week ago Dave Sir and i went to a public play party, and as He knows that i love to have my feet caned has incoorperated this into our scenes both public and private. This night was one of the first nights though that i've ever safe worded.. OW, lol. Anyways, we had several people watch and later asked questions. Even got asked by a submissive if He'd cane my feet again as she missed it the first time and she loves having her feet played with but had never seen feet caned before. Sir wanted me to rest for awhile, letting my feet catch up.. then put me on a spanking bench and proceeded to cane my feet again this time differently as He didn't want to hurt me as He'd already caned my feet once. The submissive purrr'd and has asked her Dominant if my Sir can cane her feet in the future.. :) i agree that this is not something really seen in the public eye because not many people know about it, but as it's done more and more, perhaps we'll start seeing it. :) stephanie~SD~

Hi synrgy33, and thanks for starting this thread. I like being caned and I like having my feet teased, so I'm curious about bastinado. My concern is whether or not there would be swelling/pain on the following days, and if so, if that would have a bad effect on my life. I wouldn't want to be "walking funny" or have to avoid walking to avoid further damage. It might be a little sore to sit on my ass the day after a session, but it's not like I have to stand up and sit down thousands of times a day. Fiddlegirl

Time marches on. Since then, I've still yet to see it at a party. However, I heard a tale of abuse at my last munch. The abuser actually had the balls to show up. His victim was also there. Essentially she safeworded...her dom safeworded for her. As he was hitting her feet...she is a diabetic. Anyway, I guess it got pretty messy. No idea why the dom didn't step in and take him out. I know I would have. On an upside...a friend of mine just started a tickling group here in So Cal. The response has been tremendous...so I'm betting we will see some bastinado here soon.

Wikipedia bastinado Bastinado is a form of torture or corporal punishment which consists of beating the soles of the victims' bare feet with a hard object, like a cane or rod, a club, or a piece of wood, or a whip. This torture is effective owing to the clustering of nerve endings in the feet, and the structure of the foot, with numerous small bones and tendons. The feet were often tied together or to a wooden plank, and the victim would be made to walk around on his or her damaged feet afterwards, sometimes carrying weights. The wounds inflicted are particularly painful and take a long time to heal, rendering it a redoubtable deterrent but impractical as punishment for useful surbordinates. This punishment has, at various times, been commonly used in China, as well the Middle East, where it is known by the Arabic word falaqa and especially its Turkish form falaka, as it was spread troughout the Ottoman Empire (including the Balkans). Bastinado in popular culture This torture became well known to the Western public because of the 1978 movie, Midnight Express. Uday Hussein, a leader of Iraq's now-fallen Ba'ath Party regime and son of Saddam Hussein, is alleged to have used this method of torture on Olympic athletes who did not perform according to standards. Fiddlegirl There are a lot of different types of bastinado with very different effects. Some could result in future pain or swelling, but these styles are pretty extreme and would have that effect on any part of the body they were used on. You don't have to hit the feet very hard to generate a lot of pain. One technique, with a cane or a wooden spoon, is to strike the soles very lightly but with a quick rhythm. You can hit the feet a lot harder with whips without damaging them. The key is to avoid the wrap-around. There is very little eroticism to having the tops of one's feet whipped. In my experience, both personal and via subs' reports, the pain generally subsides to a tingling within a half hour. Of course, more extreme methods might produce longer-lasting results.
