I'm getting the impression that many folks don't read whole, or even large chunks of threads before posting their own point of view ? Waddy'all think ?

I generally read all the posts unless the thread is like 20 pages long then I just skim the topic and the last 5 pages or so.

I'm a reader but that doesn't always mean I post. Of course, when I do post, I take the time to read first. Nothing worse than posting something and looking like an idiot or a fool - I do that enough on my own without adding to it!

I don't post nearly as much as I read the posts.  There are some threads not only should die, they should never have been started in the first place.

Laughing at pp's response.

If you mean do I read five pages full, not always. I figure the op is asking for viewpoints on his/her situation, not on my opinions of everyone else's opinion. My viewpoint may be repetitive or it may not, if it is they'll ignore it. But it may contain a comment that makes them think.

CJ, it depends. I read some word for word, some I skim, some I skip around on.

I read a lot of posts ... sometimes I leave a message, if I don't have something constructive to say I generally don't leave a message...I rarely ever read anyone else's replies though just to avoid unwanted drama, etc.

I think that what goes on between two consenting adults is up to them, to each their own... Sorry? Read the post? What?

If I have the time to read it al, I will. If I only skim, I make sure whomever my post is directed at is know. I'll put either fast reply or to the OP. I cant always read them all, especially if when i get home there are 8 pgs and I havent seen a one yet.

Exactly DesFIP. I'll ready the OP's post, then maybe a page to see if anyone has already said what I'm thinking then post my thoughts

**Edited to add, ooops, sorry, I didn't read all of the posts. I agree w/Level :))

Depends on how much time I have and how interested I am and / or the potentiality for some really good hijacking and humor. Sometimes I reply only to the OP and don't read the rest (because a lot of time it's the SOS we've seen a zillion times before).

Perhaps we have a solution here; I can read certain threads, and everyone else can agree with me.

Depends on the topic, the posts and how many pages. If it's like 1-3 then I'll skim through. If they're all LONG posts then no, then I just won't bother replying. I don't really care enough about these forums or the people on them to waste time reading novel length posts about stuff I probably don't care about either.

It depends. I cannot vote, as there is no depends option.

There are 33 people whoms posts I do not read, as I have hidden those - but only a couple of them are frequent posters.

Often I will read the whole thread, before or after posting or in parts at a later time. Often I will read the thread and not post at all.
