Ha ha subtee! There was a beautiful woman in Australia that rode the ride-on naked who used to live in the house I moved into. The owners lived across the waterfall and they told us they would tease when they heard the ride-on going that the husband would need to go collect the rent or whatever thing to get over there right then.

My mother is great on the gift front. I could ask her for exactly what I want, within reason and she will get it for me. I am grateful she is alive, that is a huge gift. She lost her mom when she was young and I am so glad I still have her here.

I love the gifts of trees and things. It is so cool to watch them grow. I was a tree-planter one summer, planting Christmas trees. One place was so rocky they let us take some of the baby trees home. I planted three at my folks place. One didnt work out but the other two are mature trees now. It is so cool to watch them grow. I gave my dad some hyacinth bulbs this past Christmas and he told me they are blooming in their yard now.

I love the photography gift thing too. Decent frames are available for not too much money if funds are tight. I like to make gifts especially when the money is not floating around all extra like. I knit slippers this past Christmas as gifts. My dad writes songs and poems for special birthdays, they are quite good really, lol.

Happy birthday subtee, may it be full of magic!

It's your birfday, it's your birfday...

I loved this whole post...thank you

How are you celebrating? I mean, besides the awesome orchard shoveling thing...

Expensive jewels would go down well. A trip to Tiffany's. There we go.

Venal, me?

Hmmmmm. Jewels? I don't know. "The creature" (my ex) perfunctorily gave me some of it, but I never really felt much for it all after, ya know?

[Edited to add: I suppose if it would prove to be fulfilling and meaningful for others to give jewels to me, I could do that for them. You know, accept them altruistically in order that they feel appreciated...put that smile on their face. I could do that.]

~fast reply~

Well tee, if I were you, I'd ask her to work out a kiss for me from batshalom.

Heheheheheh.

I guess my point is, I do not want anyone spending a lot of money on me. I would love a new photo of them, and maybe they can place it in a nice frame.  I love those!

In any case, Tee, I hope your birthday brings you a day of happiness, that last throughout the year.

I dig this idea! Photos are the "artwork" on the walls at my house. Is that true for you too? Or do you have special spots for pics of the ones you love?

The hallway is reserved for the members of my family who have died. My 3 sisters, my brother,  mother and my grandparents. Sometimes I just love to stand in my hallway and look at them.
My living room walls are filled with my "babies" my nieces and nephews. Of course I now have pictures of their babies lol
I also take my own photo's, so I have many from SC when I lived on the Savannah River..beautiful photo's with beautiful memories. I have pictures of the ocean, which I  have enlarged and put nice frames on them. People think that I bought them. I'm like..I don't think so! lol I took the photos. My office is filled with things from my heritage, which is Blackfoot Indian. I have many things saved that my aunt gave me, and I have artifacts from my mother. I have some wonderful photos of American Indians. I do not buy things off of the reservations, like dolls or head pieces. I support my people by spending my money at their stores. Not to mention their casinos! lol So yes, I am a photo hound, and I love beautiful unique frames. I sometimes think that the art of photography is dying, but worse, the family portraits on the walls or the family pets pictures on peoples walls are being put down for the more art deco that they sell at stores now.

Wtf is a metrosexual, ya perv ? I know what felching is, but...that sounds really sick ! What do y'all get up to in those corn fields ?

Google Web definition:

Definitions of Metrosexual on the Web:

  • An urban male with a heterosexual orientation who rejects many macho attributes often linked to masculinity.

  • Metrosexuality is the trait of a sophisticated man who has a strong aesthetic sense and spends a substantial amount of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle. ...

  • I suppose def #1 kindasorta fits, and I do "pay the price" with stereotypical subs, but, that's cool 'cause they dun interest me anyway. Macho enough for ya ?

Def #2 ? Nah. I tend to wear the same t-shirts and shorts when not at work and the same black shirt and trou when at work ( I'm channeling Johnny Cash ). Substantial time and $ on appearance and lifestyle  ? Nah re appearance. If by lifestyle one means having fun, then yea, what I can afford.

Oh! Oh my god, that is devious brilliance. Oh my god, tee, I have much to learn from you. I am in awe. I'm not worthy.

(On a serious note, I thought you were Taurus?)

Pretty darn lame all things considered. I stayed home from work, took a nap, baked some brownies to take to work with me tomorrow......about as thrilling as it gets. Had phone calls from the most loved people in my world. It's all good.

Awwww. ~smiling~ It's too bad we live so far apart or I'd bring you a kiss myself. (And breakfast, with frangelica for your coffee.)

it's your b'day, LaT?? *HAPPY DANCE!!!*  Happy birthday!

GreedyTop -> RE: I hate my birthday (4/29/2008 5:59:56 PM)

My b'day is right after xmas... so I appreciate that my Mom ALWAYS makes sure that my gifts are totally separate.  One year, she got me a Bouncing Tigger (I love Tigger...).  Stupid kid toy, but I loved it.  This year, I think I'd ask for an external HD for the computer.

Daddysredhead -> RE: I hate my birthday (4/29/2008 7:49:30 PM)

Happy almost birthday, subtee!  When is yours?

Mine is Monday, cinco de mayo.  This year, I wanted a party, a nice, fun party.  Not so much things, but spending time with people I enjoy.  So, next weekend, Daddy and gem (our beta girl) have planned a great birthday party for me at the dungeon we all belong to.  In addition to my birthday party, we've made it into a meet and greet for local kinksters who may not already be members of the club.  There are lots of people we all know independently, so we've invited them all.  And some of them have invited their friends.  Lots of CM folks from the other side as well as several people from the forums are coming, as well as Black Rose and BESS, etc.  To me, birthdays are about making great memories with special people.  I think this one will be kept in the memory books for a long time.  [:)]

    ps - Happy Birthday, LaT!!!

Which is imminent. (Hear that? It’s the theme song from “Jaws.”)

My Mom wants to know what I want for my birthday, which I would rather ignore or spend in the fetal position with a bottle of PS (Hippie knows what I mean). I gave her five great ideas, which for reasons which escape me, she has rejected. They are: 1) All new furniture. 2) An in-ground pool. 3) A new vehicle. 4) Professional landscaping for the yard. 5) An addition for a great room/kitchen. Well, she asked.

Anyway, to get her off my old, creaky, arthritic back, what would you want for your b-day if it was looming? I’d like to know about y’all, so think of things you would want and they must be from your Mom; if your ideas are kinky, filthy, perverted and/or deprived…CMail me on the other side and I will…think about them.

Time for a highball and a nap...

    Thanks, friends.

Well, happy 25th birthday (whenever it is).  [:)]

Tell your mom you want a PlayStation 3 for your birthday and send it to me.  I'll give it a happy home.  LOL

I cannot think of anything better than what my Mom is giving to me today... her time. She's alive, feisty, and taking me out to dinner. Time with her... while she's still kickin' butt and takin' names.

    ;-)

Thanks for your response, DesFIP! The 5 things I asked for I ask for every year. It's a joke between us, although I think she's finding less humor in it. Perhaps I should amend...

If I asked the offsprings for improved grades I believe I would get smited...smoted...

extinguished by the vortex caused by the subsequent rolling of the eyeballs. Does it work for you?

Actually my daughter always has good grades. However I announced that since she gets home from college next week, she is the official history tutor and aide for the 10 page term paper he needs to produce. She went to the same prep school and can help him write in the form they prefer.
